It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say this was the best burger place I tried in the United States. The menu offers many different options, but your first choice should definitely be the cheeseburger. Make sure you arrive hungry, because the portions are very filling and absolutely delicious.
I’d also highly recommend ordering their crispy and flavorful fries. If you enjoy garlic-based sauces, the garlic aioli they serve on the side makes the fries even better.
The staff were professional, attentive, and friendly as well. If you want to eat a truly high-quality burger in New York, this is definitely a place you should try.
Au Cheval completely lived up to the hype and delivered one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Chicago. The restaurant has a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere with dim lighting, energetic vibes, and a classic diner-meets-upscale feel that makes the experience unique from the moment you walk in.
The food quality was exceptional across the board. Every dish tasted rich, flavorful, and carefully prepared with premium ingredients. The portions were generous, and the presentation stayed true to the restaurant’s signature comfort-food style while still feeling elevated and refined.

Finally tried Au Cheval after hearing so much hype about it. The vibes were honestly awesome. Cozy, lively atmosphere, and the servers were super nice and attentive throughout the meal. We ordered the burger with fried egg, the shaved ribeye dip, and the broccoli. Everything was good, but if I’m being honest, the food didn’t totally live up to the massive hype for me personally.
The standout dish was actually the broccoli. surprisingly the most memorable thing we ordered and definitely worth trying. The burger was solid, but not necessarily “mind-blowing” like I expected after hearing everyone rave about it. Overall, still a good experience for the atmosphere and service, but I left more impressed by the vibe than the food itself.
