I really liked and respected Dr Grace Zhang. She was very personable. She was exceptionally knowledgeable and set me at my ease. I'm a chicken at the dentist, but she made me not so afraid to get my work done. Her assistant was lovely to deal with. The entire staff was helpful and kind. I highly recommend this practice!

I’m leaving this review to share my experience at Atlas Dental Specialists (Shadyside) for two front-tooth crowns. While the office appears professional on the surface, my experience was extremely frustrating and costly. After my permanent same-day crowns were placed, I developed persistent sensitivity in my right front tooth (cold and hot) that did not improve over time. I also felt a noticeable ledge/step on the back side of the right crown near the gumline, which raised concerns about fit/contour. Aesthetically, the crowns also looked longer and bulkier than expected with heavier incisal edges than what I was aiming for. When I tried to address these concerns, I was advised to pay for additional diagnostics (a wax diagnostic). After I paid for it, the office later terminated the patient-provider relationship instead of completing the planned corrections. What made the situation especially difficult was the refund process: the office confirmed the refund amounts in writing, but repeatedly stated the refund would only be processed if I signed a broad release/indemnification agreement exactly as written. The agreement was extremely one-sided and included “non-disparagement/online statements” language that, in my view, would discourage patients from speaking openly online about their experience. Overall, I’m deeply disappointed by how concerns were handled. The communication and resolution process felt dismissive and, at times, misleading—more focused on protecting the office than responsibly addressing the problem. My takeaway is that the approach felt money-driven, and I left feeling I couldn’t trust the process. I also recommend checking multiple review platforms for a broader range of experiences.

Saw Dr. Grace because my previous dentist retired. Atlas office in Shadyside is very clean and professional, & Dr. Grace listened to my needs, and provided excellent care and resources. I would recommend Sam the hygienist for tooth cleaning & Dr. Grace for my dental care.
