The majority of Lawyers and Attorneys, do not have a Litigation Strategy. They have a billing strategy, which tends to result in customers feeling they are being overcharged, even if they are not. We were no different, but if we were going to achieve sustainable growth then, we needed to address this. We wanted to establish a reputation for successful cases, efficient cost-effectiveness, and fair trading. Some legal firms achieve this by offering services on a No-Win-No-Fee basis, which means they can only take on cases they know they can win. We could not do this with our services, but Appleton Greene’s Litigation Strategy program helped us to implement a hybrid litigation model, which worked for us, and for our customers. Once this was in place we could grow with confidence, because we had the procedural foundations in place to build upon.

We must have implemented something like 12 Appleton Greene programs, they have over 800 programs now, all of which are entirely different. But they all follow the same structure or process and this is what makes the programs so cost-effective. They are easy to measure and fun to implement and the benefits are long-lasting. I absolutely love the way these programs engage everyone and ensure they implement what they learn by using a stakeholder management process. It has saved us an absolute fortune in not having to develop bespoke programs.

Process Improvement I wanted to overhaul all our business processes across all departments, but this task is daunting for any medium/large organization. We could either appoint a project manager to manage everything for us, employ the services of process-driven consultants, develop internal training, etc. These options would be expensive, time-consuming, and not very appealing. One of our suppliers introduced me to Appleton Greene’s Process Improvement program. The program had terrific references, was cost-effective, time-effective, facilitated implementation, and was multi-departmental. This program was an absolute find! I would recommend this to anyone.

Emotional Intelligence As a technology software development company, we had the same problem as any other technical company, our employees tended to think in terms of technical procedures. They dealt with our customers in the same way. The only problem, of course, is that a human being is not a technical procedure. Appleton Greene’s Emotional Intelligence program was just what we all needed, because it provided us with a technical procedure, or a process, that enabled us all to understand Emotional Intelligence. It enabled us to better understand and manage ourselves, and those around us. It improved our self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. Appleton Greene is also a very empathetic organization and their programs and services are all very different and authentic, so we naturally learned from the way in which their programs are implemented.

Outsourcing Strategy Program Efficiently managing everything becomes a genuine problem as business operations and processes grow with the organization. There's a limit to how much you can accomplish when juggling HR, marketing, sales, business operations, customer service, business administration, planning, etc. Naturally, the primary challenge lies in locating (or financing) staff. Appleton Greene's Outsourcing Strategy program provided us with a process that helped us focus on core activities and outsource anything considered peripheral. We found some really good business partners who, frankly, did the job better than we did. We increased capacity, reduced costs, and increased the value proposition we could provide to our customers.

Appleton Greene’s Collaborative Planning program brought teams of professionals together to engage our corporate stakeholders and encourage them to work together as a collaborative unit. Collaborative planning is the glue that binds our stakeholders together as a proactive team with a common purpose. Other stakeholders, such as our suppliers, customers, investors, and multi-departmental chief officers, have vast knowledge of planning and instruction. Stakeholders can be the advocators, while Appleton Greene learning providers and consultants lead instruction and, with training, can assist in delivering assessments and interventions. Appleton Greene also provided instructional support by coaching stakeholders to use tools that led to independence. Chief officers found points of access and suggested supports, methods, and materials for individual employees when it seemed they could not traditionally complete a task. All stakeholders brought significant ideas for activities and materials that engaged employees in new ways. When great minds are brought together during the planning process, there is infinite potential to achieve buy-in and commitment from our key stakeholders. Brand Repositioning Program It's one thing to build a brand. It's another to ensure that your brand consistently captures your desired audience's attention. In today's fast-paced business world, companies must constantly seek new ways to stay relevant and competitive. One effective strategy for achieving this is brand repositioning. Appleton Greene's Brand Repositioning program provided us with a systematic process that revised brand pillars and modified them better to suit the market and the desires of our audience while maintaining brand identity. The aim of the program was to change the brand perception of our target customers by adjusting marketing strategies around factors such as price, product changes, and messaging. This was not a complete brand overhaul or a rebrand. The program was about making meaningful adjustments to meet changing consumer tastes and preferences. It enabled us to have a hand in honing our operations, ditching the unnecessary bits, and cranking up how well everything runs. For instance, by having an effective logistics strategy, we negotiated better rates with suppliers and reduced fuel expenses, thus reducing overall costs. Plus, it was a game-changer in boosting how things run smoothly by ensuring everything meshes well across all aspects of the supply chain. Financial Strategy program I attended my first Appleton Greene program workshop last week with nine other colleagues from our company. The program title is Financial Strategy. Our employers want our company to be more profit-driven, improving our flow of funds throughout each department, improving liquidity, managing our assets better, and ensuring that all key employees have a commercial understanding of finance. It incorporates things like: -Financial Analysis -Departmental Budgeting -Financial Forecasting -Profit Centers -Flow of Funds -Investment Management -Asset Management -Growth Management -Corporate Recovery -Mergers & Acquisitions -Financial Automation -Financial Reporting The program is well thought-out and is full of helpful content and thought-provoking ideas, but more importantly, we are implementing what we learn after every workshop, so it is very easy to measure value. The pace of learning changes constantly, incorporating detailed content, videos, case studies, interactive exercises, and project studies, and it is very interactive. The workshop also allowed me to learn from my colleagues and the program content, and given we all represent different departments within our organization, this gave us all confidence that what we were doing was leading to something substantial and worthwhile. The project study enables us to implement the first part of the process within each department, and this should be fully operational before we attend the second workshop. If every workshop is developed using the same format, then this is a very productive program.

Appleton Greene programs We have implemented four Appleton Greene programs now. I have never seen such enthusiasm from our Chief Officers to undertake training. All of their programs are practical, easy to measure, and purpose-driven. They are a great way of bringing everyone together and engaging our people in a way that encourages continuous improvement and motivates them. We are retaining our best people as a result because they always want to feel they are improving and breaking new ground. Each program has been a solid and worthwhile investment.

The Contract Management program helped us transition into a proactive company rather than a reactive one. The processes were decentralized throughout the Contracts department and were finetuned over a sustainable period of 4 years. We needed to transform our accounts department to transition from a cost-cutting culture to a corporate growth culture. We employed a Growth CFO but we wanted to change the culture within the department as well. Appleton Greene’s Financial Transformation program provided us with firm foundations and the support to achieve this. Growth Strategy Like any business, we want to grow; we want to achieve more market share; we want to succeed. However, achieving growth for growth's sake has proven unsustainable.
