Lack of communication from Anne Cordey the solicitors updated us throughout with only 2 phone calls re progress from the estate agents in the whole time from putting an offer in to the end of the sale as soon as the offer was accepted the customer service was diabolical. Found the agents quite rude and very blunt when calling to ask for an update Not very good at all they wanted the sale then as soon as the offer was accepted were not bothered at all. Called asking for id and other Information 4 times when we had already been in and given it. Keys slid across the table upon collecting on the day of the exchange in a very rude manor most estate agents give a new home box well we didn’t even get an enjoy your new home by mouth from the agent. I wouldn’t buy or sell through them again. The customer service really needs to be addressed especially when you’re spending thousands of pounds!

Thank you for taking the time to speak to me just now on the phone, as I said your feelings are valid and I am so sorry you felt the way you did. I hope you understood how much it matters to me personally and as the business owner and I’m glad I have been able to speak to you personally. I hope you have a wonderful first Christmas in your new home. Very best wishes Jayne
I have used Ann Cordey when selling properties in the past . I have always had good service from all the staff hence why I went with them this time. The staff kept me upto date especially the lady dealing with the selling as it wasn’t straight forward sale. I would recommend Ann Cordey estate agents to anyone.
Thank you for all your help .

I recently used Ann Cordy's estate agents to sell my late brothers property, I found them to be very professional, friendly and very efficient at what they do. I had no issues with communication and would recommend them to anybody selling/buying a property.

Thank you for the kind review and future recommendations. I am glad we were able to help in the process and make the selling easier in difficult circumstances
Unfortunately, I would have to say to avoid this company. The gentleman that showed me around on viewings told me that things were going to be left in the property that I later found out (after offer acception) were not and I would have to pay for. Staff were rude and implied that I could not afford the property I was going to view despite having a mortgage agreed. The exact words were something along the lines of ‘are you sure you want to view this property? It is quite expensive.’ Since offer acception in February, it is now September and I have been told it’s looking more like November I will be in when originally they said June or July at the latest. Communication has been incredibly poor and I haven’t heard from them since I accepted the offer. I even got told off when I originally put my offer through for the same property with a different company because they had it listed for £10,000 cheaper than themselves. I have actually pulled out of the sale due to this.
UPDATE TO REPLY TO COMPANY RESPONSE:
I did call and explain my concerns to your company first and I got a call back from a manager. He said there was nothing he could do but he did apologise. In regard to the oven being left, your receptionist laughed when I said that I was told it was being left and I was later told it wasn’t. She said ‘if you saw a picture on the wall, you wouldn’t expect them to leave that would you?’. As if that is remotely the same as the person showing me around saying ‘they’re leaving the oven’.
In regard to not being told ‘I couldn’t afford it’, she literally asked if I was sure I wanted to view a property because of the price? AFTER I told her that I had got a different mortgage in principle for the other property we were hoping to view (after our offer was rejected), which me and my partner were looking to purchase together.
Regardless, I didn’t recieve one phone call from yourselves after my offer was accepted.
When I gave clear instructions (such as on my first offer), that that was my maximum, and please can you tell them that when you pitch the offer, the receptionist assured me that she would. When she called me back she said ‘they’ve rejected your offer’, I said okay thanks, she said ‘do you not want to counter?’, I said no I couldn’t afford to and I did say that was my best and final offer at the time. I asked if she told them that was my best offer and she said ‘no I didn’t, I forgot’. Two weeks later I got a call to say they would accept my original offer. I think if she had been honest from the start then the offer would have been accepted instead of them (or you) trying to squeeze more money/commission out of me.

We are disappointed to hear of your experience and to receive a poor review of our service when we are most often highly rated. I wish you had raised these points directly with me whilst the situation was ongoing - especially in terms of you feeling my staff are rude.
The property you were buying belonged to a new home building company and was a part exchange. This was where communication regarding what items where being left fell down as we were advised initially of items staying and later they were not.
As part of our due diligence and compliance we have to obtain buyers proof of funds, deposit and mortgage agreement. Some buyers find this intrusive and often feel like we are questioning their affordability, this is not the case. And the company selling this house requests this information in advance before even considering your offer.
I understand that your first offer was rejected and when asked for an increase you advised us that your mortgage agreement was only for a certain - lesser amount. We would not have said “you could not afford the house” we pointed out that the company would look at this less favourably.
In respect of the conveyancing process. The new build company like to do their own and ask us not to get involved in this at all. Hence why no regularly contact. And we would not be able to provide estimated completion dates. We were aware of the length of time it was taking and was chasing this on behalf of you and your solicitors to get an idea of dates for you. As it was a part exchange this is likely to the new build not being ready which is out of our control.
The new build company sets the asking price and has two agents marketing it. Both prices have to be the same as directed by the seller. We were not made aware that the price was £10,000 cheaper than we were advertising.
I hope the above provides an explanation of the situation and goes some way in helping you understand the matter from our point of reference and not that you had received rude and unprofessional service.
Regards Jayne

Wow 🤩 thanks for the high praise. We love what we do and it matters to us to provide an exceptional service. Thank you for placing your trust in us
I would never consider your company again when we viewed and we viewed twice conventionally noone told us that the neighbours behind us had right of way over our land !!! To say this has caused distress and upset would be a complete understatement.!!!!!!

So sorry to hear of your distress. It’s not a great way to start off in your new home and i sympathise .I have investigated internally and externally and am confident that our understanding of the property was communicated correctly.
And also again during the conveyancing process.
