We visited Havelock in Jan 2025 and booked two full day fishing trips with Captain Qutub. Captain Qutub is a live wire full of energy and excitement he is a great educator on fishing as well it is obvious that this is what he loves to do! We were not able to hook and monster fishes but did end up hooking some good sized GT and now hope to up our game with another visit to Captain Hook!

Great Day out We went as part of our honeymoon, I'm a keen fisho and my wife was looking forward to exploring and seeing the beautiful islands:Good:-Actual fishing: Crew knew their stuff and had good markings for where the fish were biting. We caught plenty of GTs, Coral Trout, Snapper. The crew were definitely keen fishermen and were helpful in showing us some techniques for the local waters. It was great how they really maximised our time out on the water and near the schools of fish.-Boat/Gear: Comfortable boat and good quality gear (Penn Slammer reels, braid, range of poppers and crankbaits)- Lunch: Plenty of food and icy refreshments (it was very hot so this was appreciated)Room For Improvement:-Crew had limited English, we were hoping for a bit more of an intro to the area and the few times we asked questions they didn't seem to understand what we were asking. A little extra training could help with this-It was quite off putting to hear the guys constantly spitting especially while we were having lunch. -There was a little confusion over payment. We asked the night before whether if we couldn't withdraw the full 60000IDR t an ATM on the way to the boat could we pay the remainder with credit card. We were told this is fine but when we ended up maxing out 2 of our cards at the ATM we were told the the credit card wasn't at the boat but in the opposite direction back at the hotel/charter office. Maybe getting a little credit card payment portal/device and having it by the boat would make this process smoother and avoid backtracking

Find your zen at pristine islands with Capt Q Most satisfying 5 hours at havelock was when we boarded this amazing pristine white boat at havelock jetty with crew of 4 and our friend group of 6 adults and 3 children. The boat itself was super smooth, noiseless and pollution less. Long sortie deep in the sea was calming and satisfying which was spiced up with game fishing and snorkelling. For game fishing crew thought interested people how to do it including children, and gave us ample time to try our hands on it. Snorkelling in untouched island was for an hour and gave us glimpse of some extraordinary corals, fishes, lobsters and like. The boat carried a stock of fresh fruit, cold drinks, chilled water, and for children there was mouth watering complimentary chocolate brownies. Away from all touristy crowd, I would like to do this again and again till my mind is filled with zen-ness of the place :)

Captain Hook Not sure where to begin, but if you want a mix of genuine hospitality, breathtaking scenery, enjoyable fishing, and delicious food (take a moment to appreciate the chef's passion in cooking and plating), along with an incredible staff, then this is the place for you. It may not be the easiest to reach, involving quite a bit of travel, but once you're there, they really take care of you. Qutub and Nafisa, the hosts, complement each other perfectly and are genuinely humble and kind. I love hearing about their journey to success. We initially visited for fishing, and while nature wasn't entirely on our side, as any fisherman knows, fishing is a challenge that pays off with persistence. The area has great potential, and every spot they take you to is teeming with bites. The team works exceptionally hard to help you achieve your fishing dreams. A special shout-out to the boat staff, especially "Tiger," who seems to be everywhere, anticipating your needs and making your experience so smooth. Having fished in many places around the world, I can confidently say this has the best boat staff. I'm planning to return in the next two months to catch more fish and reconnect with everyone there. My entire family Loved the experience, which was a half day trip. we learnt, we enjoyed, and was worth every minute of it. The ocean is something you can never see in other coastal areas of India due to the pollution and the population. Captain Hook's fishing expeditions gives you a chance to connect with the serene waters of Havelock giving you memories of a lifetime which you will never forget!

Absolutely worth it! We took a half day trip with Captain Hook, slightly skeptical not knowing how our girls will enjoy the fishing activity. Turned out that it was absolutely fantastic with the captain who keeps giving us a running commentary on which direction we are heading, what are the names of the islands we were crossing, how the sky changed when it showered and how it suddenly got sunny. He kept the kids alert with his sense of humor by interacting with them about the fishes, the ocean and the weather. Being with nature is always therapeutic, nevertheless there was so much learning in this trip and my family was just enticed with the blue color of the water, and soaking in the sun. There was a good one hour given by the captain for everyone to snorkel which was a beautiful experience. would recommend everyone to do this whether you are single or with your partner or with kids its definitely worth the experience.

We had an amazing experience with Captain Hook during our visit to Havelock Island. Captain Qutub hasa fantastic boat and a very experienced and courteous crew on board. Very professional and hassle free trip was organised for us ....we did a half day fishing and snorkeling charter....should have taken for a full day !!! Qutub knows the perfect spots for fishing and snorkeling.....we had so much fun 😊 We highly recommend Captain Hooks for all your adventure activities during your stay in Havelock. Thrilling, amazing experience We took a half day trip for fishing and snorkeling.What a fantastic experience we had with captain Qutub and his experienced crew on his fabulous boat ...Calypso!!! The energy and exhuburence with which captain Qutub took us to the perfect fishing and snorkeling places in the vast ocean was quite an amazing experience!!! We came back Happy,sun tanned ,and two fishes richer than we started ! Highly recommend to everyone who visits Havelock to do a charter trip with Captain Hook 😊
