Während unseres Urlaubs in Yorkshire entdeckte ich zufällig Allerton Castle im Internet. Glücklicherweise geschah dies an einem Montag und wir konnten Dienstag zur Besichtigung fahren. Schon bei der Ankunft waren wir vom Anwesen begeistert. Das Gebäude ist wunderschön. Auch von innen ist Allerton Castle atemberaubend. Wir haben schon viele Castles in England besichtigt. Allerton Castle steht bei uns jetzt weit oben auf der Liste. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Außerdem gibt es dort Kaffee und Tee umsonst. Wo hat man das sonst? Eigentlich ist der Eintritt viel zu günstig.

Absolutely amazing.
This is a historic building which has been so tastefully renovated after a tragic fire. The owner at the time insisted that everything was restored to how it was when it was first built and it has made for a stunning castle. When you enter the main hall your breath is taken away, all you can do is look up and around amazed. The best way to see it is on a guided tour and the guide we had was so very knowledgeable and added greatly to our tour. We were greeted with tea and biscuits and an introductory talk before our two hour walk around, no roped off areas and we could go into all open rooms. An excellent visit.

Allerton Castle, Knaresborough
I was lucky enough to have Tuesday off work so I was able to visit the castle on a wet rainy day. That didn’t stop me enjoying my visit. I understand that the castle is only open to the public on Tuesdays. I was intrigued with the interior and loved the staircase. I found the guides most helpful. We wandered around limited parts of the garden. I understand that the castle can be hired for weddings and it looks like a great place for one. If you are around on a Tuesday take a look around. I understand that the castle is back open in March (26).

Magical wedding day
I recently had my wedding at Allerton Castle and honestly, I can not fault a single thing, our day was so magical and special and that's thanks to the venue staff, the whole day ran smoothly and the build up to the day was also stress free. Absolutely incredible experience! The castle itself is breathtaking, but what truly amazed me was the trust—we were left completely free to explore, with every room open for us to use during our photoshoot. It felt so unique and special, unlike any other castle I’ve visited. Everything was spotless, warm, and so well cared for. The gardens were like something out of a fairytale—lush green grass and perfectly kept grounds. This photoshoot was unforgettable, and I’ll always remember how magical it felt. Alerton Castle is truly one of a kind.
