If it’s fresh countryside air, you wish to breathe on your next vacation than you have come to the right place. Beautiful, clean and tidy apartment that is as advertised. A short stroll to local shops, a great place to recharge and refresh in peaceful surrounds. The host was fantastic with communication and more than helpful in every way. This was the second time we’ve stayed at The Gatehouse and it didn’t disappoint. A beautiful, comfortable and pristine clean apartment. Perfect location, quiet and peaceful yet easy walking distance to Olinda shops and across the road from the botanical gardens. Gill the host was lovely, responsive and accommodating, creating a space with thoughtful touches that feels like a home away from home. Can’t wait to come back again!

Gillian was a wonderful host, she was very responsive to messages and proactive in providing information about the local area (places to go and eat). The location was beautiful and as shown in the photos, very easy to walk into the local town and had nice amenities like a heated floor in the bathroom to make it feel special. It was very easy to check in and the electronic lock meant we never had to worry about forgetting keys. We loved the complimentary breakfast options and wood fireplace (pre-stacked to easily light) and would definitely come back again.

The Maples guesthouse was even better than the photos Spotless and elegant whilst still having a homely feel. gill recommended the Pig and whistle for dinner which was excellentWe both went left feeling very relaxed and happy

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Gatehouse. The accommodation is beautiful and we were so grateful for the exceptional breakfast provisions, the fire and also the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Gill was extremely responsive and superb in her communication with us.We walked into Olinda to the exceptional Citrine Bistro, and up to the Botanic Gardens, which is an easy five minute walk.We look forward to returning again in the not too distant future.

Amazing

Beautifully designed and constructed studio in an incredible location, just on the outskirts of Olinda and easy walking to everything. Comfortable bed, well stocked kitchenette, gorgeous fireplace and bath. Perfect for an escape to the hills.

Our stay at The Maples was amazing! The garden was stunning, the property was immaculate and very spacious, and Gillian and Bruce were so thoughtful, generous and easy to communicate with! We couldn’t recommend it enough. Thank you Gillian and Bruce for making the weekend of our wedding so beautiful and memorable! We’d love to come back.

Lovely place with accessible features for someone in a motorised wheelchair using a floor hoist. Very clean. Gill quickly responded to our one request and checked with us part way through our several night stay to see if we needed anything topped up. Beautiful Botanic Gardens are across the road and we saw a lyrebird there as well. Easy walk/ motorised roll into Olinda restaurants (take a torch at night), or to the tea house. The wood fire was cosy and very warm.

Outstanding spot, felt welcomed from first contact, Gill has gone out of her way to make us feel comfortable for our wedding. Lovely, warm and clean, felt looked after. Thanks Gill we will be returning in due course Jonathan and Brianna

We had a wonderful time here - the place is exquisite. The decor was beautifully styled and we particularly loved the fireplace and giant bathtub! Every amenity we needed was there waiting for us and it was just a short walk down to Olinda Village and beautiful parklands. This felt like a luxury version of our own home and we hope to come back again next year. Thank you for having us!

Gillian and Bruce have done an amazing job with this property, it was well stocked with more than we could have asked for. They also catered to our dietary requirements and made this place feel like a second home to us. We cannot thank them enough and will definitely be back!

Can’t say enough about Gillian and the Maples. The massive King bed was so comfortable and high quality linen made it feel luxurious. Loved the big bath overlooking nature and the heated floors in the bathroom made it just that little bit extra! I used the fireplace (with Gillian’s help) and that made my stay feel so cozy. The breakfast goodies and treats were beautiful and felt lovingly thought out! The maples is also nicely located, walkable to the main shops. Such a beautiful space, couldn’t fault it! And Gillian was an exceptional host, friendly, responsive, flexible and generous and went out of her way. I desperately needed a getaway weekend and this was perfection! Thanks Gillian for your beautiful space and incredible hospitality! 🤍

Gill really made our stay special with her friendliness, prompt responses and recommendations. The room was lovely - perfect timing for a fire and all the wood already chopped up! Heated bathroom floor was a lovely surprise. Super fluffy towels and thoughtfully laid out snacks were provided and made our stay even sweeter. The property itself is located just opposite the Dandenong Botanical Gardens and a 5 min stroll to the charming, quaint Olinda village center. We could have easily stayed there for another week!
