We had a fabulous day at the Maples! It was super easy to check in and the room was really spacious. The bathroom was very modern and we love the heated floors and the bath tub. Also with the breakfast included we ate it all and it was delicious, thank you so much!

Such a quaint bed and breakfast location. We stayed here for a wedding which is an easy walk to the Olinda Tea House. Gill made us feel so welcome and made sure our baby boy was well taken care of with extra towels. We loved all the fresh loaf of bread and snacks that came with our stay. We felt nice and warm during the colder weather we had over the weekend. The heated bathroom floors were also nice. Definitely would love to come back here again.

Idyllic doesn't cut it; what a beautiful and relaxing getaway. Haven't felt so chilled in a long time. The greenery, the garden, the walks, everything unhurried. The accomodation exceeded expectations! The perfect retreat with bath, fireplace and so many small details, like the thoughtfully stocked and presented breakfast. Heaven in the hills. We cannot wait to go back!

This was our second stay at The Maples and it did not disappoint. This is the perfect place for a winter getaway. The accommodation was clean and modern with all the comforts of home. Adding to the cosy ambiance is the wood fireplace and heated bathroom floor. In the heart of Olinda, restaurants and cafes are within walking distance and it’s only a short drive to Sassafras. We would definitely recommend these lodgings for anyone looking for relaxing weekend away.

A beautiful studio apartment with everything we needed for a two night stay. The welcome breakfast basket was such a lovely touch. And we relaxed in front of the gorgeous fireplace which was all ready for us to just light and enjoy. Coming from Queensland I definitely felt the cold so the underfloor heating in the spacious bathroom was a treat for my feet. We did have a noise issue from the guests in the upstairs accommodation however after chatting to Gillian she was very responsive and spoke to them to let them know. Location wise this is a perfect spot to explore beautiful Olinda with its eccentric shops, lovely boutiques and coffee shops. The botanical gardens are just across the road and definitely worth a visit. All in all we would recommend this wonderful accommodation if you’re visiting here Dandenongs.

This was the second time we’ve stayed at The Gatehouse and it didn’t disappoint. A beautiful, comfortable and pristine clean apartment. Perfect location, quiet and peaceful yet easy walking distance to Olinda shops and across the road from the botanical gardens. Gillian was a wonderful host, she was very responsive to messages and proactive in providing information about the local area (places to go and eat). The location was beautiful and as shown in the photos, very easy to walk into the local town and had nice amenities like a heated floor in the bathroom to make it feel special. It was very easy to check in and the electronic lock meant we never had to worry about forgetting keys. We loved the complimentary breakfast options and wood fireplace (pre-stacked to easily light) and would definitely come back again.

We had a wonderful two night stay at the Gatehouse. The accommodation is beautiful and we were so grateful for the exceptional breakfast provisions, the fire and also the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Gill was extremely responsive and superb in her communication with us.We walked into Olinda to the exceptional Citrine Bistro, and up to the Botanic Gardens, which is an easy five minute walk.We look forward to returning again in the not too distant future.

Lovely place with accessible features for someone in a motorised wheelchair using a floor hoist. Very clean. Gill quickly responded to our one request and checked with us part way through our several night stay to see if we needed anything topped up. Beautiful Botanic Gardens are across the road and we saw a lyrebird there as well. Easy walk/ motorised roll into Olinda restaurants (take a torch at night), or to the tea house. The wood fire was cosy and very warm.
