The Gatehouse at Maples was divine!! every detail has been thought of for a comfortable and luxurious stay, whether you're there for the bushwalking, a rest or to attend a wedding. Comfortable king sized bed, deep bath, large shower. Wood fire, lounge area, table for eating and working, perfect kit hen with everything you need and high quality continental breakfast. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back when we need a quick getaway.

Gillian & Bruce your property was 5 star accommodation, it’s a place to relax and recharge your body and soul. The best of all was the fireplace which made you feel calm and relax, and the heater in the bathroom was a bonus too.The surrounding of the garden were beautiful with stunning views. Gillian went above and beyond with everything.Would highly recommended for anyone staying at this beautiful apartment, we will definitely be back again soon

Place is awesome best little getaway!

Gillian's place was perfect for a little getaway in the hills. Walking distance to the Olinda shops and close to walking trails across the road, but feels far from everything when your inside. Inside everything was as shown in pictures and a beautiful supply of breakfast and light snacks was provided. Really neat and clean inside and the perks of a beautiful fire and bath, comfy bed and heated floors in the bathroom a bonus. Gillian was fabulous to communicate with as needed as well. Thanks for a wonderful little stay.

We loved our stay at The Maples. The accommodation was state of the art with all the comforts of home and much more. The location was central and each of the villages in the Dandenong Ranges were only a short drive away. The apartment was warm and cosy. We especially loved the floor heating in the bathroom and the wood burning fireplace. We would definitely recommend The Maples to our friends and family, and we would definitely consider booking again if we return in the future. We also had the pleasure of meeting our host Gillian who was very responsive and friendly. Thank you 😊

This cottage is so perfect. Beautiful!! Perfect little winter getaway with fire and bath and so cosy. Everything was ready for us. So relaxing.

We had planned a trip back down to the area where we were married 12 months before to celebrate our anniversary, so we wanted somewhere special to stay and finally decided on "The Maples" in Olinda. Based on the photos and description, we were confident it would be good, but we didn't expect it would go as far beyond that as it did. From the moment we walked in, we were delighted by our choice. The decor was modern and charming, incredibly clean and well set up. Loved the fireplace on a cold night, really capped off a wonderful stay. Thanks Gill and Bruce.

The perfect base to explore and relax in the Dandenongs. Short walk to Olinda’s wonderful quirky shops, cafes and Botanical Gardens. Beautiful Modern Spacious, Comfortable, well thought out cottage in glorious garden surroundings. The bathroom was a standout, huge well appointed and even a heated floor. Such luxury. Gillian was the perfect host providing clear directions and comprehensive information to enhance our stay.Highly recommended

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable weekend at Gillian’s guesthouse. The place was beautiful, set amongst stunning gardens and only a short walk to Olinda Main Street and the botanical gardens. The guesthouse had everything we needed, the king bed was comfortable and the wood heater made it very cosy! The extra touches like the continental breakfast and treats were so lovely. Communication was easy and Gillian provided great local recommendations. We would love to stay again!

Thanks for Gill and Bruce for having us at the Maples. it was a very convenient accomodation after a long wedding day. The place was very warm and cosy. Gill was very accomodating for our request and a quick reposnder if we had any questions. We would definitely stay again.

A perfect place to stay in autumn or anytime. Comfortable, well presented and could not be faulted. So lovely to be able to view the brilliant autumn foliage of the huge maple tree from the living room. Great central locality for accessing all my favourite gardens and shops in the area. Plus close to a choice of restaurants. Would recommend The Maples with 5 stars.

Gillian has thought of everything, what a heavenly place. Loved being able to have a fire going, fabulous bath, perfect breakfast treats, comfy furniture and a perfect bed. Totally enjoyable!

Great location ,very nice and clean apartment . Enjoyed our stay

Gillian was so kind to allow a few film students into her property and use the space to film our short film when we’re struggling to find a place that would allow it. Despite her anxiousness about our loudness and if we’d make a big mess, she allowed us to use the space and was very accomodating to us. We made sure the place was placed back to exactly how it looked, and cleaned up to the best of our ability, since the place was so spotless when we first entered 😁

We were visiting gardens in The Dandenong and this is a very central location to do that. extremely comfortable appartment with balcony to sit out on and enjoy the view. Gill provides a good range of food for breakfast which makes the stay easier to than having to go out for it.

Had a wonderful relaxing time. The place was immaculate and very comfortable. I would love to return again.

An absolutely gorgeous place to stay. Immaculately clean and modern. We stayed for our 22nd wedding anniversary and the scenery and gardens were breathtaking. A very enjoyable weekend getaway.
