Randy presented as highly professional and committed to returning for drone photos the next day, but never returned. Multiple attempts were made by my roofer, then me, to reengage, and only after securing time with a competitor, did I finally hear back. Hopefully this was just an anomaly and others have a far better experience. UPDATE: Randy's response was admirable, he owned the 'dropped ball' here. I will simply say these things often come down to a lack of communication, something every one of us can usually improved upon. Due to his honorable response, I am changing my rating.

Yes this was an Anomaly, I did agree to come back to take drone images of your pool panels, no I did not make it back but I can assure you my attempt to come back at the later date was not spurred on by your contact with another company. We are just busier than you could possibly imagine with everyone trying to get their PV systems installed by the deadline of the tax credit, which is why I wasn’t able to make it your house for our initial meeting until around 6 pm.
But that is no excuse for failing you, I apologize and hopefully the other company can help you, if not, I’ll still be to help.

Bought a house with Solar and knew nothing about it. Randy came out and guided me through the system, showed me what to check in the control panel and what I had to do with FPL to get credit for power back to the grid (and to reduce bill to minimum), including getting additional liability that FPL requires and to get set up with the inverter company so monitor system by app. Super helpful and never would have figured this all out. He charged a reasonable service call for his time and answered all my (many) questions.

Randy the owner was able to come out on short notice to inspect issues with connectivity of my solar panels. A few quick system checks on the panel and boom everything was up and running. Randy had the touch! I will call Affordable Solar in the future if I run into any issues. Randy was personable, listened to my issues, and quickly knew what to do to resolve. I appreciate his quick response and support.

Absolutely the best encounter with a company I have had. We had solar removed to replace a roof, the company that was supposed to reinstall filed bankruptcy. No one would help us and Randy from Afordable Solar came through. They were done in less than a day, excellent work and very thankful for them all.

The company that installed my solar panels went out of business shortly after installing them… Ugh. I needed to have them removed for a new roof and then reinstalled. Fortunately, my roofing company contracted with Affordable Solar and I am thrilled with their service! They realized that my inverter had gone out and arranged to have it replaced under warranty. They came out free of additional charges to get it all set up again once the Inverter arrived and my electric bill is again down to dimes/day rather than dollars! Thank you, Randy and team!!!

Ray (from Sunshine Solar Cleaning) and Randy(from Affordable Solar Sources) were phenomenal 🙏🤲and a God send. We are former LUMIO customers and since September 2024 half our microinverters have not been reporting(means half of panels not working). Ray came out to our home to do an estimate for cleaning panels etc And told him of our predicament. He said that he would see if he could help us out(FREE OF CHARGE). Ray then spoke to Randy on the phone and they were able to reset and reboot our system! This saved our family a very expensive technician appointment. And will help decrease our FPL bill. I look forward to Sunshine Solar Cleaning our solar panels 🙏🤲 Ray answered a lot of questions and explained things in great detail. Seems very knowledgeable and cares about what he is doing! And for anything Solar related- we are most definitely going to call Ray at Affordable Solar Sources! Highly Recommend! (It’s hard to find trustworthy people when it comes to anything Solar.)

Randy called back the same day I left a message. Randy met me at my home the same week and was very knowledgeable, he answered all my questions. The system was installed and operational in about a month from contract signing. The permit was approved by Palm Bay the same day it was submitted. The system is operating find and saving me $$$.

This company did a custom install with everything and the added in my existing jacuzzi pump as well. They did it right and have been there right away whenever I have called with questions. I really can't say enough good things about Randy and his team. We had solar installed late last year. I had gone out and received a few quotes, and Randy's quote was the most comprehensive with a large part of us going with him being the referral from our friends, but also his knowledge and promptness in getting back to us. The installation went well, and he also helped us get our pool solar back on the roof at the same time. Then a few months later, we were having some trouble with the pool solar, and Randy was out that day, with his team installing new pool panels that week. Customer service and speed were excellent. Randy is super responsive and has hands down the best customer service experience I have experienced. I would highly recommend going with Affordable Solar if you were looking to get solar; you can trust the project will be well managed, the information will be shared continuously and customer service before and after the install will be excellent.

I called to get a solar panel removed, I was told Friday morning. They did not show up or call me to say they would be late. I called them and they said 2-3 pm. Once again no phone call they wanted to reschedule. I don't know if they do a good job at their work but they suck at communicating.

As one of the busiest solar contractors in Brevard county we are on a very tight schedule, I thought we would be able to get you in and we dropped the ball, no excuses. Admittedly, I rarely (never) write reviews. However, my exceptional experience with Randy Wilkens, owner of Affordable Solar Services, merits an Internet review. Please tolerate my lengthy back-story. Almost exactly a year ago, in conjunction with getting my concrete tile roof replaced, I was introduced to a “national” solar company, “Powur”, that seemed to provide a turn-key solution for installing a solar system in conjunction with my roof replacement. What an absolute mistake and, in retrospect, shame on me. They had a very slick sales presentation and, once contracted, my project was turned over to “a very experienced Project Manager”. I had several concerns regarding the solar project to include my new very expensive concrete tile roof and my lightning rod system (which had saved our house two years previously when our house was struck). Despite multiple conference calls that I coordinated with the Powur Project Manager, Roofer, and Powur’s local solar installer --- yes, they subcontract the installation --- Powur’s local installer did not install the brackets correctly and the only way to remedy this was to replace the affected portions of my new roof --- to an estimated cost of over $85,000. Powur refused to accept responsibility for their subcontractor’s error and effectively walked away from the project. So, to salvage this fiasco, I vetted several well-established, local, solar companies and all but one refused to take on the project. That one was Randy Wickens, owner of Affordable Solar Services. Randy came to my house, evaluated what the Powur solar subcontractor had done, and identified how he could take the project across the finish line. I wish I had been more diligent in selecting a solar company at the outset. At our initial meeting, it was immediately apparent that Randy knew what he was doing --- not in a pompous, arrogant, self-aggrandizing way --- but in a matter-of-fact manner from his years of experience in the industry. Additionally, Randy was going to be the guy I would be dealing with…no sales guy, no project manager, no site foreman…Randy clearly “owned” this project. I wish it was smooth sailing after that, it wasn’t, but not because of Randy. The project plans needed to be revised by a new engineer for review and approval by my local jurisdiction’s planning and permitting authority which eventually went well. However, when the inspector came back after the installation, he would not approve the “final” and wanted me to remove multiple tiles to confirm compliance with the previously approved plans. Randy then worked tirelessly and diligently to navigate this new hurdle and kept me informed on a daily basis---even through the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. We finally passed our inspection, and I can only truly say that this occurred due to Randy’s persistence. The last step was to get FPL’s final approval and, there too, Randy needed to navigate some problematic issues that Powur had created to get my project finally approved. I am now up and running and generating electricity!!! In summary, I wish I had been diligent at the outset and hired Affordable Solar Services instead. So, if you are in Brevard or Indian River counties and are contemplating solar panels, save yourself the aggravation and hire a local, experienced, team and go with Affordable Solar Services.

Randy and his team were very professional at all times from our original phone contact to the final tweaks to our new solar electric and hot water system including a battery backup system. Randy walked us through the full process and expectations before we signed anything. Even when it took us time to really consider the benefits and the financial impacts on our pocketbook both short and long term. Randy's professionalism and knowledge had a lot to do with our investment comfort and our decision. The install team made sure we understood as much of the system as we cared to (we are 2 engineers that wanted to know everything) including the phone application to monitor our solar system. There were some minor software issues requiring repeated contacts with the manufacturer. Randy's team took care of everything and kept us informed of status at all stages. It has been 4 months since our install and we are completely satisfied. We know Randy and Affordable Solar are there should we encounter any issues in the future. We highly recommend Affordable Solar!
