I had an excellent and positive experience with Access GP. I was in a difficult situation as an American citizen in the UK who had run out of my life-sustaining medications because of the length of my travel, well over a year.
None of the NHS or private GPs in the towns I was traveling could prescribe the medication’s to me in a timely way. Some would not even take me as temporary patient!
So while scrolling Google I found Access GP, paid my 55 pounds which was less than half what the NHS and private GPs were asking, and within the hour, I had a personal video interview with Dr. Hussein, who was knowledgeable and professional, and who sent over the prescriptions for five medications to the Boots pharmacy where I was at the time. I couldn’t have asked for a better solution for my urgent needs.

Contacted accessGP over a weekend when impossible to get an appointment and 111 had far more severe cases to deal with than mine. Immediately knew i’d made a great decision when I had my telephone consultation which was unrushed, empathetic, detailed and felt like I was in safe hands. Received an e-prescription while still on the consultation and further follow up calls to check on my situation.

I injured my knee on Thursday and booked a telephone appointment with Dr Hussein on Friday morning. He was really helpful and arranged an MRI referral for me the same day. By Sunday, I already had the results back.
He explained everything clearly and in detail, and the whole process was much quicker and smoother than I expected. Really grateful for the help - great job to Dr Hussein and the team.

I approached Access GP to quicken up an MRI referral process after encountering many frustrating delays within the NHS GP process of obtaining letters/referrals for a private MRI based on recent NHS consultant review and was facing weeks of delays waiting for letters to/from consultant and even errors of communication between my own GPs.
I booked the GP consult online, for the same evening, with Dr Hussain. I admit I did initially feel a bit cynical and didn't know what to expect (based on recent NHS/GP contacts).
I needn't have worried! Dr Hussain was thorough and very knowledgeable about the type of injury, the process of referrals, identifying relevant clinical need and it was reassuring to hear it wasn't just "me" feeling frustrated with being stuck in the NHS "machine" of endless waits for letters and referral forms etc.
Dr Hussain acknowledged the impact of my injury, challenges with compromised mobility and clearly cared about the impact of this on my day to day life. The clinical need for the MRI was acknowledged and Dr Hussain even sent off his referral to Vista Health during our consult. He also issued a generic MRI referral letter just in case there was a delay with Vista or no suitably timed appointments.
From start to finish, booking the appointment and liaising with Access GP/Dr Hussain has been so easy. This really stands out as a very positive experience and greatly simplified the issue and also reduced my stress about it all.
I can't tell you how pleased and relieved I am and very much appreciate your excellent quality service, the ease of booking, that I was actually "heard" rather than just listened to and that the admin side of letters/referrals was so quick!
I believe you have an excellent practise that I would definitely use again and will recommend to others. A very big thank you.

If you’re a tourist visiting the UK and forgot to bring your daily medication -this is the right place.
