We were really keen to put our money somewhere more ethical and we got a very comprehensive service from WR Ethical. They checked in with us multiple times and made their services very clear. I cannot recommend Conor Holmes at WR Ethical highly enough. My recent property purchase was not straightforward, involving structural issues discovered during surveys and subsequent price renegotiation. During a stressful three-month process involving a lot of people, Conor was the most reassuring component of the transaction.
What set Conor apart was his willingness to go the extra mile for me as a client:
* Fast: I contacted several brokers, and Conor responded days before any others did. When I did speak to others, it was clear to me that Conor struck the right balance in terms of what I needed to manage and what he would manage on his end.
* Protecting my rate: In a market where interest rates have been fluctuating daily, Conor worked tirelessly with colleagues at Nationwide to make sure the original rate we put in place when I first offered was honoured. Even when the purchase price changed, he seamlessly navigated Nationwide’s internal systems to keep my original price locked in.
* Expert guidance: When the survey and valuation results came in, I was confused about how these would affect aspects of my mortgage, such as LTV. Conor’s clarity helped me understand the finer points of a negotiation I needed to have with the sellers.
* Very proactive comms: He was always one step ahead and made sure anything I sent him was communicated to the lender very quickly. On multiple occasions, he communicated with my lender to keep the offer open, even without my instruction. He was committed throughout and even answered my calls on a family holiday in one instance.
* Empathy: Negotiating a house purchase while living in temporary accommodation was stressful for me, and there were a lot of aspects I didn’t know about in detail, being a first-time buyer. high-pressure. Conor understood and treated my case with genuine care, rather than just as another file on his desk. He always explained the next steps thoroughly.
If you are looking for a broker who is technically great, highly responsive, and who will actually fight your corner with the lender when needed, Conor is the best in the business. I am incredibly grateful for his help over the first quarter of this year!
