Wonderful place
My daughter and I had a lovely time at coombe abbey, to celebrate her birthday. We stayed for dinner, bed and breakfast, excellent. I must say all the staff are so lovely especially the young man Andrew who was our waiter on the night, such a gentleman. Thankyou for such another lovely stay. See you again soon.

Wonderful Wedding
We had our wedding at Coombe Abbey Hotel in the Court House in October. It was fantastic. We couldn't have wished for a better day. The setting was romantic and luxurious, the hotel has oodles of character and charm. The staff were great, the wedding planning team were superb. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, our bridal suite was amazing and opulent, in a good way. The food and service was perfect. We would recommend it to anyone. Thank you Coombe Abbey for making our wedding so special.
Lacking
Before my stay I’d called and left several messages with the hotel and no one had bothered to return my call, I chose option 1 and left 4 messages before my stay. Coombe abbey itself is really stunning as a place to visit. There was a wait to check in, I had made a note it was my birthday but there was no mention of that at check in. So I asked for a room upgrade, formally one grade up was given. There’s also a £10 charge to park for hotel guests. I couldn’t believe it. You’re staying over as a guest there shouldn’t be a charge to park your car. There’s a lift but it’s tiny and in need of changing as it lands with a thud. The carpet in the hallway is thread bare and looks dirty. The room was large and roomy, but really dated, paint chipping on the wood. I found the rooms to be quite dark, but I do think that’s the style of Coombe abbey a bit dark and gothic. It’s in desperate need of a good clean, paint and upgrade. The fan that was in our room collapsed when we walked in and had dust filled inside it, it was disgusting. Toiletries are sparse, there is only shampoo and body wash. It seems everyone is feeling the cost of living with giving guests minimal of what they should need rather than be plentiful, such as a hand cream or body cream. Check in is at 3.30 and check out is at 10.30am, which is pretty early. We had dinner here too in the bar, my partner felt ill right after his balti meal. When I asked for ketchup for my chips they said we don’t have any or mayonnaise, and that they were out of everything. I really felt the customer service was lacking, I didn’t feel welcomed or like I was celebrating my birthday. There was nothing in the room, a little card or happy birthday written in chocolate. Overall not impressed with the stay, I wish I’d not come to stay here on my actual birthday. I’m really surprised at such a beautiful venue the hotel isn’t well cared for and more so that its guests are not looked after properly. Finally my calls and answer phone messages were not returned but my Google review was responded to. So not helpful at all to me. Really poor yet again.
