The inside of the cabin was immaculate. We loved the privacy and the little walkway down to the pond with a seating area and fire pit. The location is great if you're looking for a getaway that's close to town but still feels like the country. The only reason we didn't give it the final star was because the internet service was very slow, so maybe not a great spot for a working vacation. Overall, though - great experience. The frog serenade and the turtle promenade make it extra special.

This was our second time staying at Woodland Cabins. It is so relaxing here. It has become one of my favorite places to come. Loved feeding the turtles! We actually ventured out and hit a few of the wineries which are very convenient to get to. The cabin is very clean and stocked with everything you need to make your stay enjoyable!

Such a great place! Feel like you our out of the way very private yet right in the middle of hiking and wine trail. Information is given very quickly. Have been staying here for years and love it!

We loved the Southern Comfort cabin! It was so cozy. It had everything we needed for a short romantic getaway to celebrate our 25th anniversary! The cabin was very clean. The view from our balcony was gorgeous. The hot tub was perfect. If you are on the fence about this one, go for it! I highly recommend Woodland Cabins! There was a binder with important information about checkout, the hot tub, grill, and other cabin-related things. We received several emails and texts about our stay, deposit, and checkout. They were very friendly and helpful. Even though there were other cabins around us, we felt secluded. They did a great job with the placement of the cabins!

Fern Glen This was our fourth time going, we stayed at Fern Glen. It was our favorite cabin. We saw a momma deer with her baby. The cabins are in a great location. The cabins are very clean and have everything you need. It is also close to the wineries .We will be back next year. I can’t wait to see the new cabins they are building. These cabins are great for a weekend getaway.

Wonderful property, well maintained and owners are very diligent in cleaning and hospitality. The peaceful pond setting and views from the decks and firepits are so calming, you never want to leave. Very impressive designs and location is close to many parks and towns and recreation. Would love to return!

Getaway and visiting old friends. Close to town, lovely quiet setting. The wall of windows facing the lake gives you the feeling you’re in the trees. Beautiful big stone gas fireplace gives the place a woodsy cabin feel. Love the knotty pine. Comfortable furniture, all the cable channels you need. Full kitchen, bath is spacious and there is a separate bedroom. Our third stay on this property, Woodsong twice and Fern Glen once. Will definitely be back.

We loved our stay here! The cabin was beautiful and very clean. It was such a serene setting and we had everything we needed for a great time away! We felt miles from everything but in reality most of the places we wanted to visit were within a 20 minute drive. The owners have done a terrific job creating an oasis in beautiful Southern Illinois!

Perfect Setting for a Special Event My husband and I were fortunate to book one of these lovely cabins for the total solar eclipse in April. We stayed in Southern Comfort, situated on a pond where we were visited daily by a great blue heron and once by a wild turkey. The accommodations were very clean and very comfortable and well-appointed for two people. We prepared meals in for three of the four nights we stayed and had everything we needed. The king bed was very comfortable. We couldn't have had a better viewing location for the eclipse, which was visible from the field just outside our cabin door. It was a pretty long drive from home (two 8-hour travel days each way), but it was well worth the trip.
