Highly recommended—a true Wapping gem!
I’ve visited Etkara on Wapping High Street several times now, and the food never misses. Having grown up eating my Sri Lankan grandmother's curries, I’ll admit I’m a bit of a "curry snob," but the kitchen here is fantastic. The menu is varied yet thoughtful, and everything is consistently delicious.
Pro tip: Ask for the cashew chili sauce with your poppadoms - it has a great kick and is genuinely amazing. It’s often quiet earlier in the week, which is a shame because this place deserves to be packed. If you're in the area, definitely give them a try!
Had a really lovely experience at Ektara Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious. I especially enjoyed the biryani, which was full of rich flavour and perfectly cooked. The chicken tikka was tender, juicy, and nicely spiced, and the sea bass was beautifully prepared with a great balance of flavours.
The overall atmosphere was welcoming and the meal felt authentic and satisfying. Definitely a place worth visiting if you enjoy well-made South Asian cuisine. I’ll happily come back again!
Absolutely fantastic, best Indian food I ever had - the paneer butter masala was divine and so was the mango lassi. The interior is also gorgeous with lovely music, made a really nice romantic date but I can see it as being great for a large party too. The service was fantastic too. Will definitely be coming back!
Nice, relaxing and very warm atmosphere as soon as you walk into Ektara.
Greeted with a friendly, hospitable and welcoming smile from the front of house staff.
We had Lamb Kebabs, Chicken Tikka and Meat Samosas for starters. Lamb Kebabs were full of flavour. Chicken Tikka was succulent and tender. Samosas were meaty with crispy thin pastry.
For Mains we enjoyed a Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Biriyani with plain Naan.
We asked for extra green chillies in our chicken which gave it a wonderful spicy kick.
Lamb Biriyani was amazing with a nice aroma and juicy chunks of lamb.
There are plenty of Indian Restaurants in the area but this one is family run with very authentic food and its own unique charm.
The Owner (Moni) makes every customer feel like royalty and his staff gives amazing attentive customer service also.
Give Ektara a visit and I can guarantee you will be going back again……..and again.
Keep up with the wonderful food and brilliant service. 🙏🏽
Absolutely lovely local place in Wapping. The food was fantastic, we had the chili chicken, mixed grill, butter chicken and chicken korma - all of the dishes were delicious. The staff is also extremely friendly and even offered us some complimentary food. It’s a must go!
We came for some food last night after a long moving day and couldn't have asked for a better way to end the night, food was unbelievable just like all the other reviews mention and both Lennie and Mani (I hope I have spelt it right) were so kind and were giving us an excellent service, definitely one of the best Asian restaurants I've been to in a very long time so thank you to the whole team!
Amazing food and great service, would recommend!
I’ve been visiting Ektara since the day they first opened their doors, and it has remained consistently exceptional ever since. Without exaggeration, this is hands down the best Indian restaurant I’ve experienced in London.
Every visit feels intentional, consistent, and crafted with care. If you’re craving "authentic Indian" cuisine, this place is not to be missed. Highly recommended!
Some of the best Indian food we've had, the owner/chef is lovely and his food amazing. A welcome addition to Wapping.
Highly recommended!
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were immediately captivated by the decor.
The owners are incredibly kind and went to great lengths to provide the best possible service!
The food was the icing on the cake! Absolutely delicious, simply perfect!!
I've never eaten such tender lamb!
Highly recommended! We'll be back! 🥰
