Dr. Winkour is a wonderful dentist and his office staff is really great, too. It might sound weird to speak so glowingly about a dentist. After all, who likes going to the dentist? That was part of the problem, actually. I had moved, and hadn’t been to the dentist since before the pandemic.
Dr. Winkour was kind and nonjudgmental. He assessed the health of my teeth and gums, explained what needed to be done, and helped me make a multi-appointment plan to tackle it bit by bit until it was all better.
On the days I got the work done, he always told me what he was going to do before he did it so there were no surprises. He always made sure I was in no pain. Now I feel confident about my dental situation, and all I have to do is get my teeth cleaned twice a year. It wasn’t super cheap but it wasn’t unaffordable either. Definitely check out Independence Dental!
Best Dental Experience Ever!
I’ve been a long time patient at Independence Dental and I must say this journey with them has been by far, the best! Considering I am extra, super, duper sensitive and nervous wreck when coming to dental work from past experiences.
Besides the general dental care I’ve received there, I just very recently had four of my front teeth replaced with porcelain ones. I love the new look, it helps me feel more confident and looks great! So thank you Dr. Winokur, Loretta, Lori, Tammy and Allison for your understanding, compassion and how comfortable you always make me feel! I’d say that’s a lot coming from myself..lol

This dentist office is wonderful. The staff is caring and kind. Dr. Winokur answers all questions you may have and makes sure you understand everything. Which is appreciated. They make sure you are comfortable which is also appreciated. Recommend for anyone who needs a new dentist or just wants a dentist who makes you feel comfortable and is nice to their patients.

Dr. Winokur is one of the sweetest people I've met. He is experienced, keeps up on the latest best practices, and communicates personably with his employees.

Dr. Winokur is absolutely the best dentist I’ve ever gone to! He is attentive to my dental needs and concerns. He listens to me and makes sure I understand everything about the procedure I am about to go through. He has an amazing sense of humor that puts me at ease. Been a patient 32 yrs.The staff was great, and Dr W top notch. But they don't take Oregon Health Plan. Recently I needed a filling fixed up, and would pay cash just for the convenience. They quoted me $111 for an x-ray and couldn't even ball park a simple filling. Try this - take the cost of all the 1 tooth fillings you did last year, divide by number of patients, and give me the average - just wanted an estimate. After years of great service, it ends with a bad taste in my mouth.
