Went with a friend and had two flights. Neither of us were particularly impressed with anything. Couldn’t taste the apple in any of them. Sad to say i’d have been happier just finding a place to pour me a strongbow.
Better than angry orchard though, at least, for sure. All of them were just kinda mid.
Bartender was nice, place had a great vibe inside. Just wish things tasted better.

Thanks for rhe review. You don't taste apple in any cider, just as you don't taste grapes in wine. You only taste apple, pear, etc. when extracts are added. Strongbow is made from apple concentrate rehydrated and apple extract added to it. Traditional English ciders take time to make and the sugars are fermented out. This gives a clean, crisp finish as in our ciders. We can't please everyone but than you for stopping in and enjoying our place.

Great variety of ciders, especially seasonal ones. Went with a group and everyone was able to find one they liked. Food menu has great British and Indian dishes. Service was quick and friendly. Scott at the bar was handling everyone’s orders with ease. They also have a front patio, board games, and a section near the bar to buy cider to-go.

Many thanks, Jacob. We truly appreciate the love
I love this place!!! Definitely worth a visit ☺️ and I highly recommend it. Scott, the bar manager, has a great personality and makes everyone feel welcome 🙏 Love the sampler menu option of ciders and the food is so delicious. As a Brit, it feels nice to have this in my adopted hometown ☺️

We're so glad to hear this, Joanna! Thanks for the warm review, and we look forward to your next visit.
We were really excited to try this spot out as we saw it when we were walking around downtown during apple blossom. We went in and there was not many people there. The bartender let us know that he would need to change the CO2 tank, which was fine with us as we were finalizing our decisions. After that was done we continued to wait patiently but it seemed the bartender was more interested in striking up conversation with other patrons and checking his phone rather than taking our orders. We had been told "we will be right with you" three times at this point. It was not until we turned to leave that we were finally asked for our orders. There was another employee who seemed to be wiping tables that nobody had even been sitting at. Again, we totally understood the CO2 needing to be changed, but having to wait about 15-20 minutes to order with less than ten people in the building seemed excessive.

We are sorry you had to experience this, and when asked, our staff member said he had extreme issues changing the CO2 tank and when he stood up, he didn't realize who was next. That was on him, and he apologizes. He was also asking for help with the CO2 issue on the phone. The other employee, had actually finished his shift and was just making sure things were clean on his way out. Please come back and let us show you what a great place we have, as you can see by all the other reviews.

Not busy at ALL (total of <10 people) & waited for 20 minutes to be ignored. At first it was “I need to replace the CO2 tank”. This was fine (although I wasn’t sure why one of the other employees couldn’t have taken our order while it was being replaced), but afterwards we were continued to be ignored.
Then, another person was waited on (who already had been served prior).
The finale was when the employee started a conversation with someone else at the bar and got on his phone while continuing to ignore us standing at the bar to be waited on (as requested by the employee).
Allegedly the employee that was ignoring us was the manager.
Needless to say- we didn’t get to try the products. Which is unfortunate. We are super excited!

As the owner of the Cider House, I am mortified to read this and steps will be remedied to make sure this never happens again. Please come back and I will make sure you are treated like all our guests usually are. I spoke to the staff member and he was having trouble with the CO2 lines and was using his phone to ask for help.
Awesome place to enjoy some great ciders, good food, and watch some sports! Probably the only place in Winchester that you can sit and catch a cricket game on TV. The Cider House has a very warm and cozy environment, though the cider might have enhanced that
Our bartender Scott was amazing! Scott had some great recommendations of drinks and was very friendly and knowledgeable on what the bar offered. Highly recommend trying the Wicked Wiles cider on tap.

Thank you so much Zack. We are glad you had a great time. Come back and see us again soon.
An excellent place to take the family, hang out with friends or bring your significant other! Casual dining experience with amazing ciders, craft beverages and delicious food. I got the Va-Ginga Shrimp and the wife got the Full English Breakfast and both meals were VERY good. Reasonably priced, too for this day and age! Service was great.. We had the pleasure of dealing with Chris and Scott behind the bar and they were both very courteous and attentive to us for the entire duration of our visit. We will definitely be back. 5 out of 5 would recommend!
