I had flown up to Brisbane over Easter to check the lay of the land, so by the time we were on the ground we had narrowed down our search areas. I met the team at their beautiful Paddington offices where they provided detailed suburb reports to get us started — and whenever I stumbled upon new options, Kyra had updated reports in my inbox within minutes. So helpful and so detailed, covering everything from flood mapping to property growth and recent sales. The team moved fast — a property came up with offers due that night, and we had planned to view it the coming Saturday. Instead, Rachael’s detailed walkthrough video gave us the confidence to act quickly. That same night, Joanna secured our offer over multiple others on the condition we view it the next morning. It was perfect: a brick façade for easy maintenance, peaceful rural views, and a resort-style pool we promised our pups! With the walkthrough and all due diligence done, we felt completely confident moving forward. Our overall experience with Joanna Boyd Buyers Advocate (JBBA) was fantastic, especially with Dean Rowe who handled our property purchase. What is immediately clear is that JBBA is completely independent and is working only for the client. Dean kept to the brief we gave very accurately and all the properties he found for our consideration always ticked most of our boxes. He was extremely proactive, always let us know what was going on and went above and beyond in digging out information on properties and suburbs. A particular part of the service that is invaluable is when it comes to the negotiation part and dealing with the real estate agent. We are very happy with the property we ended up buying! Part 2! We were so happy with the service that we came back a second time and had a wonderful experience working with Joanna, Rachael and Kyra, especially Rachael's countless informative videos while inspecting houses for us. Being interstate, it is very hard to equal the local knowledge and expertise that JBBA provide and when we identified the target they moved quickly to close the deal. As a first home buyer I found Joanna and her team very helpful. They guided me through each step and were very responsive whenever I have a question. They have useful connections to other professionals such as conveyancers and building and pest inspections, and their help with initial inspections and due diligence saved me a lot of time when I couldn’t do it myself due to work. Throughout searching and placing in my offer they gave me valuable insights of the building and its value, talked to the selling agents for more information (I’m not a good negotiator), and checked in at every checkpoint during the stressful settlement period. One specific thing I want to add: I really appreciate that they did not pressure and try to “sell” me a property. They understood my preferences and respected my decisions. I highly recommend their service.
