Water heater
Works great for heaters up to about 30 gallons.
Made a though job so much easier!
These made it so much easier to get the 50 gallon hot water heater in the attic.
Great for attaching a hoist and lifting fixture
I was quoted an outrageous price to install a new water heater at my house, so I decided to do the work myself. However, I didn't want to hurt my back by lifting a water heater with muscle power alone. Instead, I attached two of these great handles to the water heater inlet and outlet fittings. I used 2x6 lumber to build a secure mount for my hoist above the ceiling, lifted the water heater (by the handles, using a gambrel) and swung it into place. These handles were one of the tools that made the job easy. There was no trouble attaching them to the heater and they neither wobbled nor slipped. Please note: I strongly recommend that you use a fixture of some kind, like the game-hanging gambrel I used, if you're hoisting a water heater using two handles--you wouldn't want your rope or cable to pull the handles towards one another.
Handy as a Pocket on a Shirt!!!
These work great, however I decided to order a 3rd Handle….Two on Top, one in the Drain Location, this makes handling much easier for 2 People on Stairs or in tight spots, with less awkward twisting for heavier or larger Water Heaters…I’ve added a few Iron Nipples, and a Couple Street Elbows to provide better ergonomics for the long haul’sI also don’t recommend using these on the thinner nipples provided with check valves on most HWH’s as these can be rendered useless due to stretch or bend at the mid crimp used to capture plastic check valve cartridge ….Happened to me on an 80 Gallon with Dual Exchanger Coils….You’ve been advised…Get 3Get Iron Nipples 3-4”long (this will clear most Oil or Gas Heater Flues)Get 3 Street ELLs
Great tool
Solid design, much heavier duty than I expected. It was easy to use and definitely made getting a water heater into a clients attic ten times easier
Game Changer
Absolutely excellent tool. I wouldn't attempt to move a water heater without it. Threaded on perfectly and gave the perfect grab point to haul the water heater up my basement stairs.
Awesome tool! I’ve had 1 for years and 2 sure is better!
They work perfectly and are indestructible! I recommend buying a pair! One is helpful and gets the job done but 2 really helps with anything over 40 gallons. They allow one person to lift and maneuver a water heater up and around piping and obstacles that would be impossible or really sketchy without them. @pstheplumber approved!
Very Handy
Professional plumber. I use these all the time. Gives you something solid to hold onto when going up and down stairs, if you have a tall box truck helps for yanking old water heaters up into truck. A few times we've hoisted 40 & 50 gallon water heaters out of and into the attic with these on a pulley system. Note: I use two one on hot and one on cold side when lifting it into attic for extra assurance but I would bet a hundred dollars one of them would work fine.
Water heater handler
This product was great!! It allowed me to drag a heavy 30 gallon water heater from the basement up a flight of stairs.I felt like Samson!
