When I started lessons with Carmen I was chugging an entire water bottle to 'help'. A handful of lessons - and resulting better technique - later, and I'm merely sipping water and taking half the bottle back home with me. She's calm, patient and very knowledgeable. You'll feel at ease with her and leave a better singer.

I've been going to Vitality Vocals for the past few months and can say that I've learnt so much, and developed as a person beyond what I thought was possible. Carmen has a great insight into what it means to be a creative artist and is able to impart her knowledge with great clarity. Sessions are incredibly fun and engaging. I have come away from each lesson feeling more energetic and confident. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to improve their vocal and performance skills.

Carmen is a ray of sunshine I’m so grateful she was recommended to me. She is so knowledgable and I feel I learn a lot from every session. I have always loved to sing and was devastated when a couple of years ago my voice disappeared. 6 months ago, as a new years resolution, I decided to find a vocal coach to help me get my voice back. I did a google search and found Carmen only lived a few doors away. Talk about meant to be! I was very nervous for the first session but Carmen made me feel at ease and I really enjoyed myself. In the 6 months of vocal training with Carmen I have got my voice back and was able to sing in front of an audience, which I never thought I would be able to do again. This is due to Carmen's expertise, encouragement and dedication. I cannot thank her enough.

I had tried a few other vocal coaches but with them it felt like I was back at school, lessons were so boring, strict and serious. Carmen on the other hand is daft as a box of monkeys, her lessons are so much fun. Her energy and style really make you feel like you can just be yourself and feel comfortable. I’m a very self conscious singer and struggled singing in front of others but I looked forward to every single lesson with Carmen. My vocal ability has improved massively in the 6 months I’ve been under her guidance. Thanks to her, I’m now confident enough to actually sing in front of strangers. I have left Carmen’s services due to moving abroad, if not for that I’d 100% continue to see her every week. She’s the best!!! She has a proper belter voice too. I’d recommend her to everyone.

I’ve been working with Carmen for a year now. I recently had the opportunity to compare how my voice sounds now vs when I first started singing lessons with her and I can’t believe the difference already. I think that such great progress is made because she tailors how she teaches to the individual’s learning style. She is honest and firm without belittling and very encouraging. I always leave with a smile on my face regardless of how I felt arriving. In addition for me there have been many unexpected benefits for other parts of my life such as being able to recognise stress from tension in my jaw earlier, sidestepping my inner critic and finding how overthinking is not actually helping.

I booked my 8 year old daughter for her first lesson with Carmen just over a year ago. Since then her singing and confidence has grown from a timid mouse to a roaring lion. In addition to the lessons, she gives up her free time to organise Jam Nights for her students so they have a real opportunity to perform live. I have always thought I had an uninteresting voice, but Carmen has got me singing in my daughter’s lessons, and she has transformed my singing and I can reach high notes I never could before. Carmen is one of those amazing individuals that you meet along the way who makes a big impact. She is a delight to work with, encourages and challenges in equal measure with lots of laughs along the way. I am a complete amateur singer and was very nervous for our first meet, having never sung in front of anyone before – Carmen put me at ease very quickly… well, along with lip-trills, Ga-Ga’s and Bub-Bub’s..!! I had been given 2 singing lessons as a birthday present and I just had to go back for a third as Carmen had helped me find a singing voice I never thought I had.
