Having previously done an Inklings tour, I thought i knew what to expect. Our guide, Tom, blew through those expectations very quickly. His knowledge of CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien was encyclopedic, and his ability to weave stories, dates, and places into an interesting narrative was unmatched. Our party of four included one librarian and three avid readers, all with a better-than-average knowledge of these two giants of twentieth century literature. This created a scintillating conversation in which each of us learned many interesting things. As an added treat, two of our group are into Harry Potter, and Tom was equally well versed in that world. The time flew by, and we were all surprised (and delighted) that our tour had gone well past our allotted time. Thanks Tom!.

We did the Oxford Harry Potter Insights Tour with Matias as our guide, and it was a fantastic experience. His knowledge was truly impressive: between anecdotes about J.K. Rowling, behind-the-scenes trivia from the films, and stories about Oxford's other famous writers (Tolkien, Lewis, Carroll), every stop had something interesting to share. Matias perfectly balanced anecdotes about Harry Potter with stories about Oxford and university life, which were exactly the two things we were most interested in. Highly recommended!

We had the most wonderful tour of Oxford with Tom, doing the Inspector Morse and Inspector Lewis tour, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide! Tom was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Oxford and the shows. He knew so many interesting facts, not only about Inspector Morse and Inspector Lewis, but about Oxford itself, which made the tour so much more enjoyable. He even threw in some Harry Potter facts because he remembered that I love Harry Potter, which was such a lovely personal touch! Unfortunately, the weather took a turn and it started absolutely chucking it down with rain. Tom kindly gave me his umbrella and ended up getting soaked himself without complaining once. He also took some really lovely photos of me and my dad, making sure we had some special memories to take home with us. Eventually, the rain became so heavy that we had to cut the tour short, but Tom was so lovely and understanding throughout. His kindness, knowledge and enthusiasm really made the experience special despite the weather and he brought us to a lovely pub to end the tour. I would 100% recommend Tom to anyone looking to do an Inspector Morse or Inspector Lewis tour in Oxford. He was fantastic, and when I come back to Oxford, I’ll definitely be booking another tour with him! Thank you so much, Tom! ❤️

We had an absolutely fantastic time on our Harry Potter & Oxford tour, and a huge part of that was thanks to our brilliant guide, Matias. Matias was genuinely outstanding. He has an incredible amount of knowledge and brought the history of Oxford and the Harry Potter filming locations to life in a way that was both fascinating and entertaining. What impressed us most was how well he connected with the entire group. He was attentive, approachable and made sure everyone felt included, while also taking the time to answer our questions in detail. You could immediately tell that guiding is more than just a job for him. His enthusiasm, personality and knowledge made the whole experience feel personal rather than like a standard tour. What made it even better was that Matias went above and beyond the actual tour. He gave us fantastic local recommendations and tips for the rest of our stay in Oxford and London – things we would never have discovered or even thought to ask about ourselves. We had an absolutely outstanding private tour with Will, and it was one of the highlights of our visit to Oxford. If you’re looking for a different way to discover the city, I cannot recommend his Tolkien and C.S. Lewis tour highly enough. It goes far beyond the usual historical facts, bringing Oxford to life through the stories, friendships, and inspirations behind these two extraordinary authors. Will is an exceptional guide. His knowledge is impressive, but what really sets him apart is the way he tells the story. He is engaging, passionate, friendly, and has a wonderful sense of humour. Every stop felt meaningful, and he answered all our questions with enthusiasm and depth. Although the tour is in English, Will made a real effort to explain parts of it in Spanish whenever he could, which we greatly appreciated. His kindness and willingness to make sure we understood everything made the experience even more enjoyable. His native English is also a pleasure to listen to: clear, expressive, and easy to follow. By the end of the tour, we felt we had experienced a completely different side of Oxford—one that we would never have discovered on our own. If you are a fan of Tolkien, C.S. Excellent tour with Tom! I had an excellent tour with Tom! We signed up for the Morse, Endeavor and Lewis tour but we got so much more. Tom seems to have an unlimited knowledge of Oxford and its history, the colleges, etc. This would be a super tour to begin your Oxford stay.

Inklings tour of Oxford. We met Tom in front of the visitor center and after learning that we were interested in the Inklings (notably Tolkein and Lewis), he customized the tour to this purpose; though also covering much of the history of Oxford as well. Tom was exceedingly knowledgeable and clearly shows an affection for the school and area as well as a connection to the Inklings as he is himself is a writer and artist. I would highly recomend the tour with Tom.

The C.S. Lewis and Tolkien private tour with our guide, Michiel, was incredible. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many fantastic sights of Oxford- where Lewis and Tolkien lived, worked/taught and gathered with their friends. So many interesting facts about them that we didn’t know. We also learned a good deal of information about the different Oxford colleges. Very informative tour. We appreciated the expertise of Michiel and enjoyed our tour with him greatly- he was a very friendly guide.

Peter provided the most outstanding and memorable tour that I have ever been on! I booked an Inklings Tour and learned so much on top of my coursework in the past. Peter had in depth knowledge of the Inklings, their favored meeting spots in Oxford and went in depth about many of their thoroughly discussed topics. In addition, Peter’s knowledge of history and its impact on the town of Oxford and all of the colleges. He brought it all to life! We also explored many spots both from the filming of Harry Potter and of JKR’s inspiration for many characters. Peter included some of the local pubs and restaurants with lively stories/ historical context. He extended the tour as we were deep in conversation about all things Oxford. This was truly an unforgettable day!

Peter is a fantastic tour guide for Oxford school tour. Peter gave our family a very customized campus tour. And his deep knowledge about the school history, school system and student life as an alum truly inspired my daughter. Peter was a dedicated tour guide, trying to show us the school as much as he could. He was also fun to be around, making our tour more interesting. He even prepared sweets for us and allowed us to use his alumni card to get discounts at a bookshop! I highly recommend Peter as your tour guide at Oxford. Your money and time will be well spent with him!!

Excellent Oxford Tour for Fans of Inspector Morse/Lewis/Endeavor Our guide, Tom, provided an insightful and informative tour of Oxford filming locations from the British television series 'Inspector Morse,' as well as spin-offs 'Lewis' and 'Endeavour,’. We not only learned about the making of the detective shows, but also gained a broader understanding of Oxford University itself. We were three generations from the USA and Tom was able to accommodate my 84 year old mother’s limited mobility, while also making the experience interesting for my 23 year old daughter who had never seen the shows. Something for everyone and a great value for the money. Tom is an incredibly engaging, knowledgeable and warm person, who made a rough day of rain, cold and wind much more enjoyable. Absolutely breath taking views on the Cotswolds Cycling Tour! Cycled about 35 miles (with electric assistance of course) and saw some of the most beautiful terrain. Our tour guide Allisdair was very witty and had an excellent knowledge of the area. We stopped in some lovely pubs between villages and ended up in Buford. As someone who’d really only explored around London and Oxford, the Cotswolds are definitely an area I’d love to see more of.
