Worst tour i have ever been on they try and extort more and more money ar you go along 4 million dong minimum to bribe police to get into your 3rd day homestay very dishonest i would not recommend this company to anyone i only gave them 1 star so I could write a review and warn other travellers about this terrible company do yourself a favour and do not go near these charlatans terrible waste of money push you to hard and very dangerous STAY AWAY

In certain regions of North Vietnam, especially Ha Giang, local government permits are legally required for foreign riders. These permits are official, transparent, and explained clearly before and during the tour. They are not bribes, and no money is ever paid to police officers by our staff or riders.
Regarding riding difficulty and safety: our off-road tours are clearly described as physically demanding and technical, and riders are briefed daily. Our guides are trained professionals, and rider safety is always our top priority. However, off-road riding by nature involves challenge and risk.
We understand that adventure travel is not suitable for everyone, and we regret that this tour was not the right fit for you.

Spectacular Scenery + Crazy Roads & Drivers
I have just completed a 12 tour from Hanoi to Sapa ,Ban Gioc Waterfall finishing back in Hanoi. Tour leader Benji & his assistant Louis were excellent attending to everything from oiling motorbike chains to making sure there was plenty of chilli with the meals. Bikes were well maintained & provided troublefree operation. All accommodation & meals were first class with the authentic homestay meals being superb. Lunches everyday at local establishments gave a good insight into local communities. Roads were narrow, slippery & plenty of roadworks & landslides. Tracks thru the villages were great & the local kids loved giving you a good hand slap. A once in a lifetime experience. My initial trip research involved emailing a number of companies but the prompt professional responses from Alan Chien confirmed that this was the CREW to ride with & they didn't disappoint. All staff from Quinnie, Hanna, Victor, Dev at the Ryders Lodge to the tour guides & workshop team all displayed high levels of energy & enthusiasm which is a RARE COMMODITY in this day & age. WELL DONE AND SINCERE THANKS FOR A SENSATIONAL TRIP.

Professional, knowledgeable, skilled, upbeat, and positive. Tony and Tong as our guides made this 8-day adventure fun, challenging, and educational with every detail taken care of. All we had to do was ride and enjoy this beautiful country - its history, culture, vistas, people, and food are incredible. Thank you Alan for establishing Vietnam Bikers with phenomenal team members. Of those we met, they are exceptional in their roles. Thank you Dev for your kind professionalism and seamless coordination at The Ryder Lodge, from arrival to departure. And Victor, for your multi-talents (bartender, cook, photographer), doing them well and with the biggest smile. Couldn’t get better, Ryder Lodge accommodation is awesome, really really nice. Alan’s service is exceptional going above and beyond… from arranging and paying taxis to services.
Bikes are excellent and the staff and guides are awesome.
Trails are unbelievable, bikes get a bashing but the tour guide/mechanics great, and no one complains.
Home stays are great, very welcoming and clean and tidy. … you don’t have to shell out for anything other than beers and tips for the duration!
5/5 for Alan and his team, can’t recommend enough, go for it!
Very nice riding in the mountain, just organization could be better. T (guide) and L (camera man) tried their best to give us the best riding experiencie and they were very nice to us during all trip.
Make sure you have valid International License, otherwise you will have to pay between 2-4 Million Dongs (70-150€)
If you want a service car that bring the luggage with you it’s not included. It’s not mandatory and the price was 135€ more/each rider and all of the group have to pay it.
Don’t expect to be so comfortable during some days on the trip as some of the meals and hotels were not good. They should organize better to bring to good places to eat/sleep, especially for breakfast because you really need to eat well and have energy on the bike, as you are going to ride during all day.
In my opinion, the tour organization is too improvised (It’s true that in some poor places of Vietnam there’s not lot of restaurants/hotels but it’s not an excuse because you pay enough)
If I have to say positive things: Riding in the montain was very fun, the views were amazing and the bikes worked well during the trip. Also the videos/photos taken during the trip are nice.
In general the trip has lot of potencial, but the organization could be much better.
If I could give 10 stars I would! The best company doing these tours, I contacted them with about 2 hours notice to see if they could help and they slipped me in with 2 absolute legends and it was the best 8 days of my life, as well as they picked me up and drove me straight to the airport so I could catch my flight home. We had a tour guide called Cao and he himself deserves 10 stars for everything he did for us as well as him being a 5 star Masterchef when it came to him cooking. We talked to a few different tours we met along the way and none sounded as interesting as the one we were doing. Even the places we stayed were amazing and just added to how good the tour was. Will definitely be coming back and booking this tour again, Thank you guys!
Beyond our expectations!
We had an amazing experience with VietNam Bikers. The tour was beyond our expectations, and our guides Harry and Louis were fantastic. Everything was taken care of for us from the time we left Hanoi to the time we returned, and we saw and did much more than we ever could have done on our own. We would highly recommend this trip, and would love to go again!
We took the 8-day Brave the Dirt tour. It was beyond all our expectations! We had a mix of riding experience in our group (4 family members) and Harry, our guide, managed to balance to riding level well to give everyone a bit of what they wanted.
We got some tough dirt - steep rocky hills, slick mud, and a bit of single track. There were also lots of paved paths twisting through the mountains, some larger roads (also twisty), and some intense traffic riding.
The emphasis was very much on riding but we also got to experience some local culture and the food was incredible at every single meal. Accommodation included very basic home stays, big hotels, and one stop at some beautiful bungalows. It was always clean and staff incredibly friendly.
Our two guides - Harry, the main guide and Louis, a trainee were awesome. We felt very well taken care of, supported, and safe. Harry answered all our million questions about Vietnamese culture and Louis was always ready with a huge smile just when it was needed most.
If you want a challenging adventure biking experience in a gorgeous country, this is the one!
Outstanding 12 days adventure
Outstanding experience on my 12 days North Vietnam . Organization , lodging , tracks, off-road…everything was there to make a fully authentic adventure trip . Adaption of the guide to new challenges, new paths, … this was also adding to a fabulous adventure ride surrounded by a true amazing nature . I just loved it !! Congrats to the team !
Best company for this tour - couldnt be better.
I did three days to Phu Yen and Mai chau - got great help to find the best deal for me in the time I had. Rode solo with Cao which was great.
Their service is amazing even before the ride - taxis, and perfect hotel, good gear.
The ride was great, great views and perfectly planned. Guide took care of everything and all was good - food, hotels and homestays.
Motorcycles were in great shape, they take very good care of them.
Instructor films a lot and gives you all the footage plus an edited video.
Amazing company, makes you feel the best, I would definitely come back.

I arrived solo as a traveller and joined a 7 day North Western dirt bike tour with other legends from Sydney. What an experience! The guys at Vietnam Bikers sort absolutely everything for you, from airport pick up, accommodation each side of your trip, good reliable CRF300s to ride, gear, food the list goes on. Al the owner will sort anything out for you and I was blown away by the customer service Vietnam Bikers offer.
Special mention to Andy and Hoang our two now good mates that took us around northern Vietnam to experience their beautiful country and immerse in the Vietnamese culture, absolute legends that made this trip one of the best experiences of my life. The scenery in Vietnam is truly stunning and combined with the culture and how kind and accommodating the Vietnamese are I would recommend Vietnam Bikers to anyone who likes to ride, explore and have fun along the way.

Stop researching all other companies. This adventure tour company is the one you are looking for.
Alan and his team are 10/10. We received airport transfers and a nights stay at Alans hotel (which was fantastic quality) the night before we started and the last night of the trip upon return.
Communication fantastic from start to end. We booked 6 day western loop. Customised by our operator Andy. The support team provided on tour includes a photographer, mechanic, support vehicle and operator.
All trips are Customised by your ability and preference of off road on road riding. There is gear for hire. We took our own helmets. Goggles. Pants gloves and jerseys. However Alan has a large range of gear to borrow.
We were welcomed into their fantastic respectful culture. All meals were provided and local knowledge of the areas along the way. Plenty of fastic memories created and all Alans staff are very very helpful.
Thank you Alan and team, the trip exceeded expectations. Cant recommend highly enough.
