Wonderful stay in the jungle! We booked the stay with breakfast and dinner included and all the food was delicious. Very peaceful setting and we enjoyed swimming in the pool every morning to start the day. Comfortable beds and very quiet which is what we were looking for. Would definitely visit again. We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Vayu! Marc and Raffael were wonderful hosts and took great care of us during our two-night visit.
From the moment you step inside, the attention to detail is striking - the villa feels like a serene spa retreat. The room smelled amazing, was spotless, and every little touch had been thoughtfully considered.
Our stay included both breakfast and dinner, and the food was simply outstanding. Compliments to the chef - the meals were delicious and beautifully prepared.

Heaven on earth
Marc and Rafael’s small hotel (4 rooms or bungalows) is truly something special! We stayed there for 4 days on the recommendation of friends and felt right at home from the very first moment; we were made to feel very welcome, and our wishes and needs were taken care of—almost as if we were staying with good friends. This intimate hotel complex is a magnificent gem nestled within the rainforest. The grounds are tastefully designed and impeccably maintained. Anyone looking to truly unwind and reconnect with themselves will find this secluded spot (yet just a 10-minute drive from National Highway 34) to be the perfect retreat. It had everything we needed. The food was excellent and healthy, and the drinks were delicious no matter what time of day it was. For example, when we were using the lounge chairs by the pool, Marc would often come by and bring us cold mineral water without being asked. He always kindly reminded us of the importance of staying properly hydrated. At the same time, our two hosts weren’t intrusive. Everything was just as we’d hoped—in fact, our expectations were far exceeded. We’d stay there again in a heartbeat.
We genuinely couldn’t rate Vayu Retreat Villas any higher. We stayed here for our honeymoon for five days in total, and it was nothing short of incredible from start to finish.
The rooms and overall design of the villas are truly special. Everything is beautifully maintained, and you can really see the care and attention that Marc and Rafael have put into creating the space. The décor strikes a perfect balance between modern and relaxed, with a calm, stylish vibe throughout. The pool was an absolute highlight too, always warm and perfect for a refreshing dip at any time of day. The lighting throughout the villas and grounds adds such a lovely atmosphere too.
The food at the restaurant, NuRaw, was consistently outstanding. Both the breakfast and dinner menus change throughout the week, and every dish we had was incredibly fresh and full of flavour. The quality genuinely felt like something you’d expect from a top-rated restaurant, but with a relaxed and intimate setting.
Vayu Retreat Villas is out of town, but that was part of the charm. It meant total peace and relaxation, while still being close enough to easily explore Uvita and the surrounding areas like Corcovado. Waking up each morning to the sounds of toucans and other local birds, and spotting geckos and hearing the frogs in the evenings, all added to the sense of being immersed in nature. We also felt completely safe throughout our stay.
The team at Vayu are warm, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making your stay as special as possible. Marc, Rafael and the whole team are always on hand to help, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. There’s a real sense of care and thoughtfulness in everything they do.
We left feeling completely relaxed, and are already hoping we can come back again one day. Thank you Marc, Rafael, and the whole Vayu team for an unforgettable stay!

If you are looking for a place to celebrate your honeymoon, anniversary or any other event - you just found it now.
It is a magical place, everything here is accurate to the smallest details.
The place - the design is so modern and clean, you have anything you need: Huge and comfortable bed, smart room, minibar with drinks, beautifull terrace to relax.
The pool is amazing, and because this place is so small, most of the time you will be alone there.
We were there at Valentines day, and got a live music, dance and special food!
The food - WOW, the breakfast changes everyday, and each meal was just delicious, satisfaing and so beautiful.
As for the dinner, it is a three corse meal that changes every day - They got frrash fish and meat and even bake their own bread there. Just amazing.
Also, they have vegan and vegetarian options.
They have a drink menu with a variety of wines, cocktails and smoothies.
The location - The resort is isolated, in the middle of the jungle, so you can enjoy the quite, the Tucans and many other birds.
But still, it is close to many attractions: Surfing lessons, Corcovado, whale watching, Uvita and Dominical.
The service - The whole team was there for any question or request even before we got to the hotel! They were always available for us, and always with a smile.

Wow! We travel a lot and travel well, and it’s hard to impress us, but Vayu did exactly that. We felt very fortunate to have stayed here, and Vayu will be our “home base” when we come to CR again.
First, it is difficult to compare the service to anything other than a Ritz Carlton, Saint Regis or something at that level. In fact, our service experience was likely higher than these hotels I just mentioned. Before we arrived, we received confirmation confirmations of our stay and questions regarding special requests. Once we arrived, we felt as if we were royalty with the hosts asking great questions and delivering wonderful surprises/experiences at every step.
Next, the property is extremely clean, well-appointed and maintained, and the level of detail that has gone into the property puts Vayu in a class of itself. In addition to being light-filled and airy, the rooms and property had a very warm and inviting feeling, with nooks and crannies all over the property made for relaxing and stopping to enjoy the scenery. Waking to the sounds of the birds and monkeys in morning was magical and we had unique sightings every time we turned around.
Finally, the restaurant was phenomenal, and without exaggeration was the best restaurant we visited on our two-week stay in Costa Rica. We made it a point to try local, well rated places, and the restaurant on this property was the best. Without spoiling it for you, I would strongly encourage you to eat both breakfast and dinner here every day of your stay.
You won’t be disappointed if you stay here, and it’s possible “the bar” for travel lodging and boutique hotels will be reset for you. I personally feel it’s actually a bit underpriced for what you receive.
