My time with Varghese Summersett was very disappointing and a horrible first experience. I hired Varghese Summersett for a family law matter and was assigned to McKenzie and Kate. This was my first ever experience hiring an attorney and or firm and of course I was very confused and had a lot of questions. Dealing with this very difficult and of course emotional for me and I was met with nothing but unprofessionalism, rudeness and a condescending attitude. Every time I called or simply asked questions I felt like a bother or as if I was wasting someone’s time. I understand I may have asked a lot of what some people would consider to be “dumb” questions, I understand that I may be a little “slow” at understanding the process and next steps, but when I hire you and I need a little extra help understanding what is going on I don’t see the issue with that. Both McKenzie and Kate were not great to work with at all, both seemed to be on a completely different page, both had different opinions on details of the case and at one point they were even laughing at me on the phone while I was discussing a very difficult part of my case. The final straw for me was when I was told “You have 5 minutes” while on the phone with McKenzie and Kate, when I had made it obvious how upset that simple statement made me and told them I will seek new counsel they immediately said they would withdraw from the case and offered no apology or way to resolve any issues we were having. I genuinely feel as if I learned nothing, gained nothing, and was very mistreated during my time with Varghese Summersett. I highly DO NOT recommend Varghese Summersett to anyone especially Mackenzie or Kate, I’m sure they are wonderful people but in the professional setting they did not represent themselves or Varghese Summersett well at all hence my 1 star review. Very disappointing.
I would like to extend my deepest thanks and gratitude to Mike Hanson and the Varghese Summersett firm. My wife and I were victims of ID theft and the scammers made it look as if we were the ones doing the illegal activity. We reported it to the police, closed our bank accounts and credit cards, but the State still felt the need to try and prosecute us for the wrong doings of others. We were referred to Mike and he listened to our story and worked diligently gathering proof that showed that we were innocent and that everything happened just as we said it did. In fact the firm was completely behind us after all the proof had been brought to light. My wife and I are law abiding citizens who have no criminal record and have never been in trouble with the law. We felt that the District Attorney's office doesn't really care if you're innocent or not, they just want a win under their belt, no matter what the cost. This case against us was a true misuse of the justice system. No one could understand why we the victims were being treated like the criminals. No one should have to go through what we went through. We want to thank Mike and his team for believing in us and working so hard to find the truth in order to get our case dismissed. I would highly recommend this firm if you find yourself in need.
