I highly recommend Cameron to everyone. It is no wonder he and the team at OTB receive so many accolades. Cameron has a truly impressive wealth of knowledge that gives us faith in being in great hands. He is a very personable and impeccably ethical professional who goes above and beyond the level of service and attention you may normally expect. In good faith he will often address/tweak other things he finds, which averts bigger problems down the track. He is an excellent communicator who takes time to explain what the issues are, explains the options for addressing them and why he recommends a certain course of action and then provides excellent customer service in getting the job done, and as quoted.
Our experience:
We have a 2008 2ltr turbo Audi A3 Cabriolet in great condition that we really love. Before we knew of Cameron and OTB, it developed an age-appropriate engine issue with a few associated problems and our regular mechanics at the time clearly didn’t want to ‘own’ the task of sorting it out; they gave us the ‘glass half empty’ scenario that put it in the too hard basket and offered us $600 to “take it off your hands”. Then a trusted friend in the automotive repair industry recommended we take it to Cameron at OTB for a second opinion and alternative quote. We are so very grateful for that referral! Cameron assessed the car, accurately diagnosed the issues, gave us a plan for addressing those issues strategically in affordable stages, and then methodically applied an investigative mindset to the problems and has fully regenerated our car to be a reliable and mechanically-sound vehicle that performs and pleases like it should, well below the cost that we were quoted by the original mechanics. Our 'fun car' has never performed as well as it does now, and will always be taken to OTB. Thank you Cameron!
Super positive experience with Cameron from OTB.
Took my car in for a subframe bushing replacement, the repair was done the same day. The price was very reasonable, and Cameron was very helpful, he recommended some future maintenance items i should look out for due to the age of the car.
Would definitely come back for any issue I encounter in the future 10/10
Excellent Service from Cam at On The Ball Automotive!
I had an amazing experience with Cam at On The Ball Automotive. He’s professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about getting the job done right. Cam took the time to explain what was going on with my vehicle in a way that was easy to understand, and he never tried to upsell or push unnecessary repairs.
The work was done quickly and at a fair price — my car’s been running perfectly ever since. It’s hard to find a mechanic you can really trust, but Cam definitely earns that trust with his honesty and attention to detail.
Highly recommend Cam and the team at On The Ball Automotive to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality service!

A Bad experience. A mistake with an automatic transmission fluid change at this mechanic on my VW Multivan. A problem with the automatic transmission after the OTB service. A different second mechanic found that The transmission fluid levels were low (3.5 litres drained) and the fluid level indicator was missing as a result of this OTB mechanic. I was also overcharged by OTB ( for 8 litres of ATF and $638 for a dud job). The Van takes max 5 litres of ATF.
Thankfully second mechanic redid the automatic transmission fluid with a new fluid level indicator ($438). Van is working fine now with no issues.
All evidence and facts in the 2 attached invoices of both mechanics. I did try to reach out to OTB but no help or response.
Cameron was recommended to me from a good friend as i was looking around for a trusted local mechanic to look after my vehicles after using OEM's for many years for servicing. I found Cameron and the Team to be very professional and honest and his knowledge on the issues at hand were very appreciated. All work completed so far i have had no issues with and very pleased. I have found what i was looking for in a trusted local mechanic. Thanks OTB.
Someone was buying my car and paid 270$ vehicle inspection the buyer passed on the car, I went and asked the mechanic exactly what was wrong with it he said if I want to find out he I would have to pay 270$ for a report, not even 5 mintues after he spoke to the buyer then he purposely made my car look bad just to send my buyer to a car dealer to purchase a van. Rip off, deceitful cheat. This the type of mechanic where you take for an oil change and then have to leave with a $2000 bill.

Hi Rewan,
Yes we did inspect your van for a pre purchase inspection as requested by our customer.
Your van had many problems which we reported to them and gave a rough indication of pricing on each item.
This inspection has just saved this customer many thousands of dollars in potential repairs from the car you are trying to sell.
This report and inspection was 100% at the request of my customer and not yourself and at no time do we need to pass on our report.
In our discussion i finally mentioned a few of the problems as you did not intend on leaving untill the info was passed on.
After hearing a list of issues you did not batter an eyelid as you were well aware of the problems.
Because of cars like yours we suggested a reputable car dealer (we had heard of very good experiences from) for this customer as it is a safer option than being ripped off by a private sale
As requested, The list of issues on the van you are trying to sell
*No service history
*Electrical problems - All accesories stay on when key removed and causing a battery drain (jump pack in glovebox and spare battery in car)
*A/C does not work
*Rear diff and wheel bearings worn, Ecessive noise coming from rear on road test
*Multiple lights globes out
*Rear shocks do not work and the vehicle is bouncy
*Passneger window does not work
*Radiator cracked and leaking from top tank
*O/S/F wheel bearing excessive play and very noisey
*Oil leaks, Leaking rear main oil seal, Cam cover gasket and oil filter

Cameron and the OTB team are extremely professional and skilled at what they do. I've always tried to stick with manufacturer service centres, but Cameron and OTB provide a personlised touch that can't be matched. Whether it's regular vehicle servicing or creating a solution for specific request, OTB does it all.
I had an issue with coolant leaking on my VW Amarok and Cameron was really accommodating fitting me in at short notice.
Cameron explains everything in a way that really shows his knowledge and gives you a sense that your car is in great hands.
What really sets a business apart however is how they deal with any issues after you have paid and left. I had a minor problem and Cameron did not hesitate in asking me to bring the vehicle back it in at my convenience where it would be looked at while I waited. That is exactly what happened and the issue was fixed in minutes. No if’s but’s or maybe’s, just a calm and professional approach.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the team at On The Ball Automotive to anyone looking for a quality and expert service for their car.
New to the Northern Beaches so decided to give Cameron a try after a recommendation. Best move l ever made as l bought a 2nd hand car which wasn't in the best of shape and step by step, Cameron and team put a plan together to get it back running perfectly again, would highly recommend !
