The Opera House is beautiful from every angle, but what really made the visit memorable for me was the experience underneath it at Opera Bar. It is one of the best spots in Sydney to sit with a drink, look out over the harbour and watch the ferries go by. The atmosphere is relaxed, the food is surprisingly good for such a busy area and the views are honestly some of the best in Australia. Perfect at sunset.
I also did one of the guided tours inside the Opera House and it was well worth it. You learn a lot about the design history and all the behind the scenes work that goes into each performance. Walking into the theatres while they are empty feels really special, and the guides are full of fun facts and stories you would never hear otherwise.
The whole area is easy to walk around, with plenty of seats, photo spots and access to Circular Quay. It can get busy, but that is part of the charm. If you can, take your time here. Wander around the sails, grab a drink at Opera Bar and soak up the harbour. It feels iconic for a reason.
A must visit for anyone in Sydney.
