My time at United Black Belt has been nothing short of transformative. This school not only taught me martial arts, but also the core ideas of building character, discipline and resilience. Walking into this place 6 years ago, I had no idea of the impact this place and the people would have on me, however, years later as I reflect on my journey, I feel overwhelmed with gratitude.
The instructors and masters are unmatched, not just in their skill and dedication, but also their kindness and passion. Behind every sharp correction and every intense sparring training was someone who believed in me, even at times when I didn’t. I learnt how to fight not just during sparring or self defense, but through challenges, fear and failure. The students here don’t just train together, but each one helps push the other one to achieve their goals and be the better version of themselves.
This school instilled respect, confidence, humility within me. But more than that, this place provided a community rooted in mutual respect and shared drive for excellence. Every bow towards the masters and instructors was more than tradition, it was a thank you for their countless efforts, intense belief, and tough love that helped me become who I am today.
As I move on from this chapter, I do so with pride. I carry with me the sweat of every hard-earned belt, the pain of every lesson, and the joy of every victory. This school has been more than a training ground. It’s been my second home, that will forever hold a place in my heart.
