This university is on the affordable side and they offer so many fields of study that other nearby universities don't offer. It is closer to the ocean and it's bustling with life. However, the recent politics of this school were not good.
The university raised the tuition to construct a nicer area (that didn't need renovation), rather than use that money to improve and expand programs, or improve student life (Air conditioning for the Art building for example). The restaurants before 2020 were filled with people and all kinds of food you can buy. Now, it's deserted because they closed all of the restaurants. Some of the dorm rooms are poorly managed at times, based on what some people tell me.
Before all of that, I came to this university during high school, and I knew I wanted to go here, but I feel like it's becoming more of a shell of itself. Maybe I am being dramatic.
They also didn't let graduates walk after the COVID pandemic. Despite everything being in person, they didn't let graduates walk in attempts to save money. I don't know if that part was resolved.
The professors were great and I miss them. Despite the buildings having an overall theme with style, some of the architecture is unique in their own. I love the psychology building.
