We had a 15 person group and had an awesome time. Most of us had done a lesson or two before but this was the best we’ve ever had. The tips the instructors provided were so helpful and they were super helpful and positive. They were super punctual and accommodating for our large group and fairly priced.

Thank you to this wonderful crew that made my experience in San Juan del Sur so beautiful. Playa hermosa quickly became my favorite beach. These men are amazing instructors and wonderful people! If you’re going to take a surf lesson I would 10/10 recommend this company.
Surfing, laughter, good vibes, endless sunsets
Nice place and good equipment. But the conditions were not good for beginners.
Focus of those guys was more on pushing us into the waves and taking nice pictures (without analysing them with us). We were able to use the board after the official lesson.
I fall and broke my foot. At this moment the teacher was not there anymore and nobody else really cared. They seemed to know my foot is not broken, even if I was not able to walk by myself. Just brought me back to my hostel…
The accident was not there fault but I just wished for a little bit more care.
Even after I texted them the next day, they did not offer me any help or even asked if they could do anything for me… I don‘t really speak spanish and as a single traveler it was hard for me to only organize crutches.
I heard that there was another accident at the same day and same beach :-(

Honestly, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review after seven years. This is the only one-star review we have ever received, and we are very proud of the work we do.
We believe your surf lesson was excellent. We even have photos from the class that show you doing great, although we don’t feel it’s necessary to post them. During the lesson, everything went very well.
After the class ended, you took your board and decided to go surfing on your own. At that point, every student is responsible for their own actions. We are a surf school, not babysitters for people who choose to surf independently after the lesson. Unfortunately, you injured your foot while surfing alone, outside of our supervision.
Regarding the other injured person, they were not our client. We simply offered support, as we do to anyone in need.
You did not request to be taken to a hospital. Many people prefer not to go to public hospitals in Nicaragua or are concerned about costs, so we always respect the guest’s decision. You were carried, assisted, taken back to your hostel, and given the best care we could provide. However, no one on our team is a doctor, so we could not diagnose the injury.
We also want to clarify that there was discomfort about paying for the lesson, even though the class had already been provided.
If an injury had happened during the lesson, under our instructors’ supervision and with our equipment, we would of course take full responsibility. This injury occurred during your personal time, after the lesson had ended.
We truly appreciate your review. It does not upset us—after seven years of work, we stand confidently behind our professionalism and the quality of our service. We wish you the best and hope you recover well. The place currently looks this way because we are in the middle of construction. After all the adversities we have faced, we are rebuilding and improving. This process is part of our growth. Had a great experience with the crew there. We got picked up at our hostel every day to head to the quiet beach. Great surfing, super helpful surf guides. Also super chill - one time we spent the whole day there and had a bonfire! I miss all of it already. Thank you Pedro, Minor, and crew!!
I can recommend it 110%. Pedro is a fantastic instructor and super motivated to help you improve. I've taken many courses but I learned by far the most with him. He tailors his lessons to your surfing skills. The surfboards are in a top quality and the beach is stunning. I had an amazing surf session with him, including a shuttle and a beautiful sunset. So go for it!
I had a great experience with this surf school! The team was super flexible. They noticed I was struggling with the morning conditions and kindly offered to try again in the afternoon at a different beach. There, I had an amazing session and was finally able to catch waves. Highly recommend!
Amazing surf instructors who helped us really progress our skills + also really nice and friendly guys. Very easy to book with them over WhatsApp and they helped us with all our questions very quickly.
J’ai pris 3 cours de surf avec Tribu Surf Nicaragua et c’était génial ! Les instructeurs sont très professionnels et vraiment sympas, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés. Ils prennent le temps d’expliquer et vous mettent à l’aise. Je recommande !
