We booked our Favela Rocinha tour with Rodrigo Indio Tours and met Ronaldo at the local mstro atation. Ronaldo provided us with a guided tour which included the famous drone video. Ronaldo and the tour were excellent, he is very knowledgeabl eand passionate about educating visitors!! We're we shown amazing buildings and business, great views and amazing local projects. We would highly recommend! One of the best highlights of our trip to Rio.

Hicimos la ruta de Pedra da Gavea. Fue una experiencia muy chula, y sí recomendariamos hacerla guiada, ya que si no tienes experiencia, hay partes peligrosas. Además, fuimos con Eduardo y Fernando, dos guías encantadores que nos contaron muchísimas cosas de Río de Janeiro y que nos transmitieron mucha seguridad. Sin lugar a dudas, ellos fueron increíbles. No le doy 5 estrellas porque tardamos demasiado. Al final hay partes que se hacen con cuerda y hay que ir de uno en uno. El grupo en el que íbamos era demasiado grande (+ de 15 personas). Si bien es normal que en estas rutas guiadas hay que adaptarse un poco a los ritmos, un grupo más pequeño habría agilizado mucho más todo. En lugar de 6 horas, tardamos 8 y se nos hicieron muy largas las esperas. Aun así nos gustó mucho, y disfrutamos mucho conociendo al resto del grupo, que al final era gente joven de distintas partes del mundo. ¡Muy recomendable!

Challenging, but extremely rewarding adventure This is maybe the best hike you can do in Rio, and absolutely the best view of the city. Our guides Edu and Fernando were incredible; super friendly, accommodating and took all the photos that you wanted throughout the hike. Not for the faint of heart, the path is not well maintained as its right in the heart of the Tijuca Forest. Expect lots of roots, rocks and occasional tight spaces. Bring lots of water and good shoes. The view is breathtaking and even intimidating; if you’re squeamish about heights maybe reconsider this trek. Even as someone who isn’t scared of heights, this tested me. 360 views of Rio and all its highlights, including Pedra Bonita, Cristo Redentor and Sao Conrado Beach. On a good day you can see all the way across Guanabara Bay. Can’t recommend this enough, truly a must-do thing in Rio, and worth all the effort!

Great tour. My guide Marvin was super patient with me. Marvin was very knowledgeable of the trail and even shared facts of Brazilian culture and history. I would definitely recommend this hike. I live a sedentary life style so it was hard for me but in the end I managed to complete the tour. The view is worth it !

We had a wonderful hiking experience, and a big part of that was thanks to our guide, Jessie. She was incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming throughout the entire hike. She shared many useful and interesting details about the trail and the scenery, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Jessie also made sure we had the best viewing spots along the route and helped us take some amazing photos. We highly recommend this experience and especially Jessie as a guide!
