We just completed our silver qualifier DOE with our instructor Hailey, it was a very fun experience, we learnt many new survival techniques and overall I really enjoyed it. My favourite experience was making a backpack with sticks and ropes, it held on really well and lasted a whole walk. Although at times i was very tired i was resilience and pulled through. This was best duke of ed camp I have been on!
Another thing we learnt was to read bearings using a map, I was able to learn many new survival techniques including being able to build shelters, although our first one was not as successful the second one was more successful as we didn’t get wet when cooking!
I think Hailey was an amazing instructor, she was able to support our group really well. Although our group was sometimes a hassle always wanting to eat and sleep, she was able to motivates us, and make us do our purposeful activities. If I ever did this camp again I would like to go with Hailey again. Overall SNM is an amazing company and I really recommend.

Thank you so much Miu Miu,
It’s wonderful to hear that your Silver Qualifier was not only memorable, but one of the best Duke of Ed experiences you’ve had so far.
Making your own backpack out of sticks and rope, building shelters that actually kept you dry, navigating by bearing — these are real skills, and the way you pushed through the tired moments shows true resilience and growth. That kind of determination is exactly what Adventurous Journeys are all about.
We’re also delighted to hear how much Hailey meant to the group. She’ll be glad to know her support, motivation and encouragement helped you learn, have fun, and keep moving forward even when snacks and sleep were calling more loudly than the trail!
Thank you again for sharing your experience and for the recommendation.
We’d be very happy to adventure with you again — maybe even with Hailey leading the way once more.
