We had a really fun night at the GAB Lab with our handsome, funny, and knowledgeable chef Hugo. Both the teens and the grandparents were equally engaged, which is a great situation to be in. If I had only one thing you should know before you go--apparently the market fish stalls where customers buy the seafood for the paella are closed on Mondays...so you miss out on that if you book a Monday.
I would also add that the market is really fun on your own, and we wish we had given ourselves more time before having to meet Hugo for the dinner.

Unbelievably wonderful and delicious. Nestor was charming and so fun! Paella was brilliant and a fun collective endeavor. Learned so much. Highly recommend!

Personable, Professional and Punctual
My wife Michele booked us for the paella and sangria class during our stay in Barcelona December 13. Three things stand out: 1. Personable. The chef and staff were friendly and helpful and clearly articulated everything. All the participants were also very friendly. 2. Professional. The sangria and paella recipes were well explained and the ingredients were well prepared. 3. Punctual. We were told from the beginning that the class was 3 hours and would begin at 2pm and end at 5pm and it sure did. Assembling the paella ingredients, adding them to the pan and cooking them was fun and enjoying the sangria in the process was an added delight. The paella was perfect followed by the almond cake which we also made. Please be aware that the paella was jointly made by the 9 participants and the chefs. Great experience!
Fantastic experience. Maria & Mateo were awesome. They provided history of the market during our walk, knew interesting facts regarding the neighborhood, and provided great hospitality. Plus the class was wonderful. The other participants were interesting and friendly. The food was delicious. We are hoping we can recreate the entire meal at home.

It's very nice place but it very expensive and you don't get all the ingredients to cook yourself but you just deserve only the best and just give you small portions and just take to long to complete because so much people try to learn how to cook
