Quite boring!
Nobody greeted us, we had to find out where and how to enter.
We bough tickets online, they couldn’t scan it. They said they believe us not cheating, so they let us in…
There are no foxes there anymore (although its nice if they actually released them as they said).
There were 4 reindeers in a few meters (3 minutes walk).
We got a toast bread to feed them.
I am not sure if its healthy for them.
You can touch them across their cage.
The girl there seemed to be bored also.😀
Overpriced, disappointing. You shouldn’t pay for it more than maximum 1000 ISK.
Ich ärgere mich total über den Besuch und das ausgegebene Geld.
Der „Park“ hat nichts mit einem Park zu tun. Man kann dort max. 50m gehen: 25m hin und nochmal 25m zurück. Es gibt aktuell „nur“ 4 Rentiere, in voneinander separierten, sehr kleinen, Gehegen, welche nur einseitig zugänglich sind (kein Rundweg).
Die Frau vor Ort ist mit Abstand die demotivierteste Person ganz Islands: Die Führung und Erklärungen dauern nur 2 Minuten – dann hat man alles gesehen und gehört. Dabei zeigt sie auch nicht nur einen Augenblick freundliches Auftreten und Rückfragen werden nicht beantwortet. (Vielleicht ist es besser, wenn der Eigentümer die Führung selbst macht?! – die Frau ist auf eigene Aussage erst seit April 2026 dort.)
Die Frau brüllt die Tiere, während der „Führung“, an, damit diese wieder vorne an den Zaun kommen und von den Besuchern angeschaut werden können. Gelockt wird mit Toastbrot.
Die Rentiere werden von der Frau scheinbar nur mit Toastbrot gefüttert, was nach kurzer Recherche im Internet, für Wiederkäuer problematisch ist. Störung der Pansenflora: denn eigentlich ausgelegt für Flechten, Blätter, Gräser und Kräuter – nicht für kohlenhydratreiche und stärkehaltiges Toastbrot.
Man darf sich nach der „Führung“ noch alleine auf dem kleinen Gelände bewegen und umsehen.
Nach 4 Wochen Island-Urlaub: am letzten Tag hier nochmal die größte Enttäuschung erlebt – insb. mit Blick auf Preis-Leistung.
Ich bin sicher, das gesamte Erlebnis ist deutlich besser, wenn die Führung nicht von der Frau durchgeführt wird! Schade, dass der Eigentümer nicht da war, denn die Erfahrungsberichte der anderen Besucher scheinen ja deutlich besser zu sein….
(Ich habe bereits zuvor in Lappland drei verschiedene Rentier-Parks besucht: Ein Unterschied von Tag zu Nacht – um Faktor 1000 bessere Erklärungen und Interaktionen mit den Tieren.)

It is difficult to read a review like this, especially since we work very hard to provide a good introduction to our animals and our work. As you mentioned, many other guests have a completely different experience; for many, visiting these beautiful animals and learning about them is the highlight of their trip to Iceland. C'est chouette de voir des rennes de près. Puis c'est tout, les parcs semblent un peu petits... Et contrairement aux autres avis nous n'avons pas eu le droit à la visite guidée (j'avais accompagné des enfants islandais, même pas d'explication pour eux non plus...) la dame à la caisse est aussi dynamique qu'une huître.
Bref pas convaincu.
