Riding horses was my favorite part of visiting Iceland. I have so many special memories to take with me. Bonded with the other guests on four days of riding, plus two days of travel. We herded sheep, and witnessed the community gathering of the annual round-up. Thrilled when the free running herd wove through, and passed us. We crossed varied and beautiful landscapes, including grass, moss, water, mountain, plus lava field. Saw waterfalls, caves, terrain. We could ride the entire time, and encounter no one. The horses like people, are responsive, and were very good to me. I enjoyed riding several of them. Accommodations were clean and cozy. A lot of planning and concern is placed into the guest experience. The family run operation meant many resources and skill sets contributed to the visitor package. Thank you, Marie, Robbie, and Maria for creating such a wonderful week.

If I could give ten stars, I would! These are amazing people. I can't speak to the horses aspect, but Foss Travel sent a van out to pick up two of their customers who had gotten stuck in the snow, and they let us follow them back to the farm, as it was snowing too hard to see more than a few feet ahead. Even though they usually only do small group tours, they let us stay overnight in a cabin and offered us food. I am so very grateful!

Inmiddels alweer terug van een onvergetelijke 6 daagse sheep round paardrijvakantie. De eerste nacht op een leuke en knusse boerdij geslapen, daarna 3 nachten in een fantastisch gave berghut in the middle of nowhere. Proffesionele, gezellige en geïntereseerde mensen die onze kleine groep van zeven begeleidde. Super mooie paarden en goed verzorgd. Zelfs nog noorderlicht gezien deze dagen. Een paardrijvakantie voor gevorderden ruiters, waarbij we ook echt spannende dingen hebbeb gedaan met de paarden en zelfs langs een waterval gereden. We hielden een leuk tempo aan en er werd echt gekeken naar het paard wat bij jou paste. Nogmaals bedankt voor deze fantastische ervaring !!

Mitte September 2025 war ich 5 Tage mit Foss Travel unterwegs auf Island. Ich durfte beim "Rettir" dabei sein und hatte eine ganz wundervolle Zeit mit Marie, Robert und all den fleißigen Helfer*innen im Hintergrund. Wir waren mit den Pferden "über Stock und Stein" unterwegs auf Island: zu jedem Zeitpunkt habe ich mich wunderbar aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Pferde, die Betreuung durch Foss Travel - alles ganz wunderbar und sehr professionell und jedem einzelnen Gast zugewandt. Ich kann Foss Travel absolut empfehlen. Vielen Dank für alles!

sehr nette Leute, tolle Lage, , jnglaublich schöner Strand, wunderbare Pferde, der Umgang mit den Pferden war sehr lieb und respektvoll, alles wurde gut erklärt und auch wenn man garkeine Ahnung vom Reiten hat erlebt man einen super Ausritt ob an den Strand, auch die 1-wöchigen Tour in die Berge ist sehr zu empfehlen und ein mega Erlebnis😍

Only the absolute best things to say about Foss travel! My girlfriend and I with a group of ~10 others went on a week-long riding tour to some beautiful Icelandic destinations with Marie, Lia, Rob. The accommodations were all very nice and well kept, the food was delicious, and the riding journeys were fantastic. The hosts were all super welcoming and warm, provided great riding feedback for all the riders, and they went above and beyond to help me propose to my girlfriend(she said yes) and celebrate a birthday on this trip. I feel everyone on this trip made lasting connections with each other and I believe we will all run into each other again. The herd was also so happy and so well taken care of, and the experience to meet and work with so many different horses was truly unique. These horses have it made. Ágreningur: ★★★★★ very sweet, an extremely comfortable tolt 8k: ★★★★★ a very strong horse but an absolute sofa of a tolt. Extremely sweet.

Ich habe die 7 Tage Reittour gemacht und es war einfach nur der Hammer! Wir wurden super herzlich empfangen und die ganze Woche gut betreut. Die Auswahl der Pferde die man bekommen hat war gut überlegt, sodass jeder das Pferd hatte das zu einem passte und es somit für Pferd und Reiter schöne Touren wurden. Die Tour selbst war sehr abwechslungsreich und man hat sehr viel von der Natur in Island erlebt: Es ging durch Flüsse, Berg auf und ab, auf herausfordernden Böden (die Pferde waren absolut trittsicher!), zu Wasserfällen, an den schwarzen Sandstrand und nicht zu vergessen das Reiten mit der Herde, was einfach nur magisch war und bei mir für ein paar Freudentränen gesorgt hat! Die Pferde haben so so viel Platz und es wird sich gut um sie gekümmert, es ist schön familiär mit dem ganzen Team und nicht einfach nur ein „durchschleusen“. Es wird sich viel Zeit für einen genommen und man reitet in einer Gruppe von maximal 12 Personen. Ich bin einfach nur begeistert! Allerdings ist die Tour wirklich nichts für blutige Anfänger, man muss den Umgang und das Reiten mit den Pferden können.

My 13 y.o. daughter and I went on a fantastic 5 days riding tour with Foss Travel, chasing beautiful waterfalls. The landscapes we saw were just amazing, riding on black roads, green mountains, in the wild dust with the heard and on the black beach, we just had a blast. Staying at the mountain, in this perfect place with endless land, mountains, beautiful river and this amazing heard by the river was just a dream. We could fully recharge in this stunning place. The food was fantastic and the staff so welcoming, friendly and professional (thanks Marie, Lia, Lisa, Robbie and the others!! You were amazing!). The level is completely accessible and not hard, even for younger or less experienced riders. I would only have loved to ride more hours each day... because... because these horses are soooo incredible! I can only finish with them, as we could have brought back a few with us in our suitcase! They are so kind, curious, motivated and well trained. It was fantastic to have the possibility to try different horses, even each day, and discover their various abilities. We just loved them and had to say a last goodbye before leaving the country. We already dream of going back there.... and we can only recommend Foss Travel!

Just back from an amazing time with Foss Travel :D My sister and I did a 5 day horse riding tour, which included staying in the Foss mountain hut and riding around the highland area, riding with the herd and a beach ride. We both got to ride a number of different horses during the tour, all of them different to ride but all lovely - and all sweet as Marie would promise us every day! :) The horses are well looked after and the whole team are lovely, friendly and professional. We felt well looked after by everyone. Thanks to Robbi, Marie, Lia, Lisa and all for a great time (apologies to not include those whose names I can’t remember or can’t spell!).
