We, bunch of enthusiastic trekkers had a tremendous experience of Machu Picchu Inca trail in the month of September 25 . The team is experienced and kind and empathetic and kind bunch of tour guides who would push you when shoulders drop.
The arrangement was superlative despite limitations and food arrangements were too comprehensive as well delicious. Jose was exceptional and so were the other guides . Highly recommended .
It’s fantastic to know you and your trekking crew had such a tremendous time journeying with us in September! There’s nothing like the energy of a group conquering the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu together. Your enthusiasm is truly contagious. Whenever you're ready for another epic adventure or want more tips for exploring Peru, let’s connect—we’d love to help make your next trip just as memorable!

Our Peru trip was from 5-Sep-2025 to 11-Sep-2025.
Our group size was 15.
Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, 2 big and comfortable vans came to pick us up. 1 van was loaded with our luggage, 4 staff members (Cesar, Jose, Julio and Alejandro) belonging to Tour Leaders came to the airport, welcomed us with lovely big smiles, counted our luggage pieces, crossed checked with us once all our luggage was loaded in the van. Our lead guide Pepe joined us at a hotel and gave a detailed description of our trek and itenary, explained everything about clothing, medicines, wate, food, altitude, overnight stay etcetera.
Cesar is our lead point of contact, incharge of everything. And, Pepe was our lead guide
After day 1 of our trek, 2 team members didn't feel comfortable to continue with the trek. So, Alejandro took them back to the base camp, arranged overnight hotels, took very good care of them. On the final day, Alejandro along with our 2 team members reached Machhu Pichhu via train and bus. They have mentioned that Alejandro took care of them like his own family. On the way back, when one of our team mate had headache, he asked his mum (who lives in a nearby village) to make special tea and bring it to them and met them on their way. That was pure love and generosity.
On the other hand, 13 of us continued on our trek. Cesar, Jose and Julio were with us for every bit of the journey, sometimes even carried our small backpacks when we felt super tired.
Cesar and Jose took a lot of pretty amazing photos with their SLR camera.
Julio was outstanding, he is quite guy, but, takes care of everyone, has lot of patience, answers every question, makes everyone comfortable. Both Pepe and Julio has a lot of local knowledge and have kindly shared their knowledge with us.
Our cook, without any hesitation, I will give him and his assistant 5 star rating. The dishes they have cooked for us were healthy, delicious and the variety of food was mind boggling. On the penultimate day of our trek, the chef even managed to bake a cake for us, and we were high up in the mountains, that was magnificent.
The porters are the quite guys, but, they do most of the work, like, setting up tents, carry water, carry stoves, utensils and all other groceries including eggs, tomatoes, potatoes.l and a lotore. They collect the water from the streams, boil it and later cool it down and fill all our water bottles. Due to this level of care, all of us were healthy. Everyday, whenever we reached the campsite, they all would like up on 2 sides and clap us with big smiles until we get near our tents. That was something special. They would even put 2 bowls of hot water Infront of each tent so that we can wash our face and feet. We were 2 in each tent.
All guides and support staff (including cooks and porters) are amazing, very friendly and approachable.
They are a very valuable asset to the Peru Tour Leaders company.
Overall, I would say that it was a memorable trip, we will cherish the memories for the rest of our lives.
THANK YOU to Peru Tour Leaders.
Anyone thinking of a trekking trip to Machhu Pichhu, I would strongly recommend to contact Peru Tour Leaders.
Our hearts are so full reading about your Inca Trail Peru adventure! The way you shared every detail—from the warm smiles at Cusco Airport to the chef’s surprise mountain cake—truly highlights the little wonders our team loves creating. Alejandro, Cesar, Pepe, Julio, Jose, and everyone you mentioned will be over the moon to hear your kind words about their care and dedication. It means so much that you felt looked after like family. We hope your memories of the trek continue to inspire you, and we’d be thrilled to plan more magical journeys for you and your friends.
Thank you, P Reddy.

We did a llama and alpaca trek near Chinchero to acclimate to the altitude and it was a dream! The guides were so kind, patient, and knowledgeable and the animals were lots of fun to walk with. This was a great opportunity to be with nature and learn about Peruvian cultures. Don’t miss the fantastic experience

My daughter and I booked the combo Lares Trek/ Short Inca Trail through Tour Leaders Peru on a recommendation from another friend. Our first contact was with Natalie on the phone who was very friendly and helped us with our decisions about the different treks offered and hotels in Cusco, as well as great information about what to pack.
The transportation arranged by Tour Leaders Peru to and from the airport, and all the points in between for the trek (in comfortable vans and the train to Aguas Calientes) was so valuable to us, as the logistics of traveling in the area is quite complex. The drivers were on time, friendly and experienced, and there was never a transport glitch.
The owners of the company, the drivers as well as our trek team, led by David, were all locals to the Sacred Valley & Cusco. It is our understanding that Tour Leaders Peru supports the indigenous Quechuan community by keeping all of the money and jobs local. We felt this company’s priorities for the local community were very commendable.
Finally, the trek itself was just spectacular, and David was so supportive, encouraging me to just keep going slow and steady to conquer this challenging hike (especially the first day which took us to 15,200 feet). He was also very knowledgeable about the mountains, valley and of course Machu Picchu and incorporated some spiritual practices, rituals and lore which made the hike more meaningful to us. Of course the porter/horseman, chef and assistant were also invaluable, helping make the trek comfortable and delicious, with fabulous food and comfort all the way. We especially enjoyed meeting the horseman’s family and seeing how they lived.
What an amazing trek we had. Just magical.
Hello Peggy,
Thank you so much for sharing your incredible experience with the Lares Trek and Short Inca Trail combo through Tour Leaders Peru! We're thrilled that you and your daughter had such a memorable adventure, exploring the stunning landscapes of Peru and reaching the breathtaking Machu Picchu! I'm delighted to hear that your initial contact with us was helpful in planning your trek and accommodations in Cusco. We’re proud to truly value the local Quechuan community, keeping jobs and resources within the Sacred Valley and Cusco. It's wonderful that you found the transportation, logistics, and overall support so seamless and enriching, from the experienced drivers to the knowledgeable trek team led by David. The Lares Trek, with its challenging heights and spiritual significance, paired with the Short Inca Trail, makes for a truly unique and magical journey, and we're so glad that it was everything you hoped for and more.
Thank you again for choosing us to help make your adventure unforgettable. We look forward to assisting you with more incredible journeys in the future!

I had been planning our family (5 adults) trip to Peru for at least 9 months and looked at more than 10 guide companies, initially we were only interested in the Inca Trail hike. Then I talked to 3 or 4 companies on the phone, asking them many, many questions. In speaking with Fidel and Natalie at Tour Leaders Peru, I was immediately impressed by their knowledge, not only of the Inca Trail, but all the other adventure opportunities in Peru. They were very patient with my many questions and changes, and after several iterations, they eventually put together a custom/private tour for my family that included Cusco city, Sacred Valley, the Inca Trail, Rainbow Mountain, Amazon rain forest, and Nazca lines.
Fidel is the quintessential guide. He is from Cusco, knows the history of the area extremely well, and has been guiding the Inca Trail for 20 years. We were very fortunate to have Fidel as our guide for the Cusco, Sacred Valley, and Inca Trail portions of our trip. He got to know our family very well and provided many personal touches that made it a very special experience. Completing the Inca Trail is one of those bucket list accomplishments that we will never forget. But, having completed it now, I have to believe it is more challenging than most people expect, and Tour Leaders Peru were instrumental in preparing us for every element of the trip and fully supporting us all along the way.
The entire two-week tour was fabulous, and we were able to enjoy many of the exciting and diverse adventures that Peru has to offer. All the logistics went well, the accommodations/food were great, and all the guides insured we had the best possible experience. It was definitely the trip of a lifetime!
Thanks for sharing your amazing experience with Tour Leaders Peru! I hope your family had an incredible time exploring Peru. From the Inca Trail to Rainbow Mountain, the Amazon rainforest, and the Nazca lines, you covered it all!
It's awesome to hear how your Tour Guides and Natalie impressed you with their knowledge and patience in planning your custom tour to Peru.
Thank you for your patience. I aim to surpass your expectations by enhancing your experience in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and the Inca Trail with personalized details to make it truly memorable.
It's great that everything went smoothly with logistics, accommodations, and food. Your journey sounds like it truly was a trip of a lifetime! Here's to more adventures in the future!
Best wishes,
Fide Cesar Conde

We had a wonderful intimate tour. Our itinerary was well planned and gave us some time to explore on our own, which was nice. Deyviss, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We asked questions about a wide range of topics, and he consistently provided interesting answers. He even knew all the best photo spots!
Thanks for sharing your awesome experience in Peru! We're thrilled you enjoyed our tour of Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain Tour.
Glad you liked the mix of planned activities and free time to explore. David is fantastic Guide? He's not just friendly but also a fountain of knowledge, and he knows all the best spots for photos!
Thanks again for choosing us. Hope to see you on another adventure soon!
Thanks Julio for your feedback. You are one of our expert and best tour guides that we have in our crew. Cheers and best regards,

We unfortunately didn't get to travel with Tour Leaders Peru because of Covid-19. We had to cancel our May tour and postpone our vacation until further notice. We had paid a deposit and Natalie and the team worked diligently with the government to refund our trip. We are incredibly grateful for their help! We are eagerly waiting to travel to Peru when it is safe to do so. Thank you again Tour Leaders Peru and we hope to travel with you soon!!!
This review is long overdue. My friends and I traveled with Tour Leaders Peru back in Sept. 2019. After many email exchanges and group texts, Natalie, our booking agent, booked our Salkantay Tour. Natalie knows what she's doing and has actually been to Peru and visited the places I asked about. She's even done Salkantay Trek! Our tour guide Cesar was very attentive to us and so was the rest of the crew. Food was delicious!! The views on the trek are amazing and the hot springs on the 3rd day is a nice soother and relaxer. There aren't words for Machu Picchu just that it's simply breathtaking! I definitely recommend this company for your Peru tour! Thank you Tour Leaders Peru!!!
Thank you, Katie! We're thrilled to hear you had such an amazing experience with Natalie, Cesar, and the team. Your kind words mean a lot, and we’re glad you enjoyed every aspect of the trek.

7days Lima Cusco Machu Picchu travel
Thanks to the team for showing my three friends and me the beauty of Peru. This trip is my best vacation trip, because it is full of excitement, adventure, and close to nature experience! I couldn't find a more intimate way to participate in this interesting culture and history. Everything is amazing and absolutely breathtaking. We visited Lima, Huacachina which is the only oasis in South America and went sand boarding and buggy riding. We flew over the mysterious Nazca Lines and each had a window seat in a private small plane! We then took the flight to Cusco and visited the sacred valley, Moray and the salt mines of Maras. We went to Machu Picchu by train and Machu Picchu is truly amazing. I highly recommend Cesar the tour guide here to everyone. Tour Leaders Peru Adventure, they make our trip so memorable. They are always full of happy smile and eager to serve the team, making the journey the most enjoyable experience, so that we can feel their family. Their attitude helps to show the kindness and happiness of the beautiful Peruvian culture.

Wonderful time in Peru!
We just got home safely from Peru. We saw the Sacred Valley, hiked the 26 mile Inca Trail for 4 days from 8,000 to 13,800 feet to see the ancient stunning Machu Picchu, learned about Incas, went to the exciting Amazon Rain Forest to see Macaw birds in the wild, shopped at San Pedro’s Market in Cusco, celebrated New Year’s Eve in yellow hats in Cusco, went on an exciting ATV ride in the desert, flew in a small plane over the ancient Nazca Lines, & went on a boat trip to the beautiful Peruvian Galapagos to see Penguins there. We had a great adventurous time there as a family. We highly recommend you all visit Peru too! We booked our trip with a wonderful travel agent named Natalie Conde. Our main tour guide was terrific and his name was Aldo Quispe. We also had a very knowledgable bird tour guide in the Amazon named Jose Antonio Padilla. Here are some facts about our trip:We trekked the Inca Trail, one of the top 5 treks in the world! We were very lucky that permits were still available. In 2007, Machu Picchu was declared one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We travelled to all 3 regions of Peru: The Coast- Paracas and Huacachina, Andean Highlands- Cusco and The Jungle- Amazon Manu National Park. The Nazca Lines were the same ones that were portrayed in the Indiana Jones movie (Crystal Skull).Huacachina Oasis is the only desert oasis in South America.

We had a great tour of
With tour guide Aldo (he's great):
Cusco, Sacred Valley, Inca Trail, Machu Picchu. Jose was always there, attentive, hiking in front, back, side, showing us extra ruins on side trails. It was great!
For the Amazon, we switched to great naturalist and super birder Jose Antonio and hiked and birded in Manu National Park. Jose Antonio has memorized 3000 bird calls, we tested about 50. He has a crazy ability to spot birds, animals and insects all over the place.
Then we went to Nazca (lines in the desert), then an oasis for dune buggy and fun sandboarding. Next day in Paracas to see the sky darken with birds. Had an absolutely great time where we saw a huge sampling of Peru. I ate tons of carbs for the high altitude (you should probably get a Diamox prescription ... and chew coca leaves (San Pedro Market in Cusco), but with the hiking and activities, I lost 4lbs.
Incredible
If you looking for an experience to challenge your body and be rewarded by breathtaking views and scenery this is the trip and tour group to join. I was tested physically and the leaders on this tour group were so supportive, encouraging and paced the group well. Our tour leader gave us amazing stories that included the rich history of the culture and the people of Peru. The tour leader was able to create an atmosphere that was light and fun while reminding us to pay respect to the journey. The Tour Leaders Peru Adventure beautifully and meticulously organized all of the details of the trip down to food, transportation and accommodations. The food that was provided on the trek was nothing short of incredible. It was so nutritious and artfully served for each meal while staying true to classic Peruvian cuisine. Prior to arriving to camp at the end of each day the tour group worked tirelessly to have camp set up for the evening and went out of their way to ensure our needs were met. The altitude took some adjusting to and we were offered all of the local remedies to assist with the trek. I highly recommend Tour Leaders Peru Adventure for their convenience, knowledge and expertise in navigating Peru.
Amazing once in a lifetime experience!
I have always wanted to see Machu Picchu and when the opportunity came, I didn’t want to pass. My friends and I did the Salkantay Trek with Odon as our main guide and he was just so passionate about telling us the history and the culture behind Machu Picchu. Odon took care of us like we were his children haha, he helped us adjust or feel better with altitude sickness. In addition to Odon, the crew was really hard working and our tents and meals were already prepared for us when we arrived at all of our campsites. There was a good variety of meals and you really appreciate a nice warm soup when you’re surrounded with snow capped mountains in below freezing temps! The tents were comfortable to sleep in but that also depends on the type of sleeping bag you bring. I recommend doing this trek despite being challenging because the views were totally worth it!
Salkantay Trek
Cesear and team showed my friends and I a great time across Peru. He and his colleagues are owners and Peruvians so they care deeply for their company and the country. The adventure was amazing as was the food and friendship!
