I cannot recommend Dr. Crotty highly enough. She is an absolute expert in her field, with a calm, caring demeanor that immediately puts you at ease. I first had the privilege of being treated by her during her time in the Navy, and I followed her here, to this practice, because that's how amazing she is! I trust and respect her completely and recommend her for all things dermatology.

The best dermatologist is here at Torrey Pines Dermatology and Laser! Dr. Clement is by far the best dermatologist I've ever had. He listens, he'll order tests to figure out what's going on and, basically you can just tell he cares! If you're looking for the best dermatologist he's here!

Dr. Clement and staff have been wonderful. I’ve been seeing them now for six months. I came in with terrible plaque psoriasis. He got me on the right medication. I also came in with psoriatic arthritis and it has helped my inflammation gone down and my psoriasis is cleared up 90%. I would recommend them to anyone. They are respectful of your privacy and they are helpful and very easy to work with.

I am extremely disappointed by the care I received from this dermatology office.
I was struggling with painful, persistent rashes on my eyelids and neck and was diagnosed with a fungal infection without any culture or testing to confirm it. I was prescribed oral antifungal medication, which made me feel absolutely terrible. By day 10, my rashes were not improving, and I felt increasingly unwell from the medication.
I called the office twice yesterday--once at 8:30 a.m. as soon as they opened, and again later that day. I clearly explained that the medication was not working and that I was experiencing significant side effects. Nobody called me back. Apparently, I was expected to continue feeling sick and wait through the entire weekend until Monday for someone to respond.
Because I could not get help from this office, I scheduled an appointment through Zocdoc with another dermatologist. After examining me, he immediately questioned the fungal diagnosis and told me that nothing about my symptoms appeared fungal. He diagnosed me with contact dermatitis, prescribed two different ointments, and told me he was highly confident I would improve before our follow-up appointment.
What is even more concerning is that my former dermatologist had instructed me to use hydrocortisone on my eyelids and neck if the antifungal treatment failed. My new dermatologist warned me that steroid use around the eyes needs to be handled very carefully because prolonged or inappropriate use can potentially increase eye pressure and contribute to glaucoma.
On top of feeling sick for 10 days and receiving what now appears to have been the wrong treatment, I threw away hundreds of dollars' worth of makeup and replaced it because I believed I had a contagious fungal infection.
Misdiagnoses can happen, but failing to return two calls from a patient who is reporting that a prescribed medication is not working and is making them feel unwell is unacceptable. I felt dismissed, unsupported, and completely abandoned by this office. I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend seeking a second opinion before beginning treatment based solely on a visual diagnosis.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel others need to know about my experience here.
I came in to have an odd rash/spot on my hand examined. The Physician Assistant, Sakshi, felt it likely wasn't fungal and suspected Granuloma Annulare. To rule that out, she recommended a biopsy, and I agreed to move forward. I did mention I had a family event in 10 days that I was hosting and preparing for.
Lack of communication before the procedure: I was never told the biopsy would require stitches. I've had biopsies before with no stitches, so I assumed this would be similar. When I looked down and saw a noticeably large hole in my hand, I was surprised, and Sakshi's response was casual, just "yep, we'll stitch it up." Had I known stitches would be involved, and that I would need to keep my hand dry for several days, I would have opted to wait until after my event.
The stitches failed almost immediately: Within 15 minutes of leaving, while driving home, I checked and found the stitches had already come undone, they hadn't been placed properly. I had to call the office and go back the next day to have it redone, all during an already busy week preparing for a family event.
Dismissive follow-up: When I returned to have it restitched, Sakshi's comment was essentially "oh, I knew this was going to happen", which made it clear my time and inconvenience weren't taken seriously. I later had to return a third time to have the stitches removed.
I shared my frustration with her team afterward, and someone did apologize, but Sakshi herself didn't seem to view any of this as a problem.
The result: After all of this, the biopsy came back inconclusive, and I was told I would need to repeat it. My insurance was billed over $3,000 for a procedure that ultimately gave no answer.
Billing dispute: I later received a $47.85 bill from the office. Given everything that happened, I called and asked for it to be waived. The office clerk was kind, took my information, and said she'd escalate it to the office manager. I never heard back, so I called again a week later and spoke with the office manager directly — who was dismissive of my experience and refused to waive the fee.
To be clear: this was never about the money. It's about three visits, wasted time during an already busy period, a large insurance charge, and a biopsy that wasn't performed or communicated properly and with no accountability offered in return.
I have since decided my family and I (including my daughter, who has spent thousands of dollars here on other treatments) won't be returning. I am leaving this review so others can make a more informed decision than I did.

This was the first time for this procedure and I didn't know what to expect. It was very comfortable in the office and procedure room. The procedure was somewhat painful around the eyes but otherwise very tolerable and the recovery so far has been smooth with little to mostly no pain.
