An Unforgettable Gredos Ibex Hunt in Spain with Alfonso and all the Top Spanish Hunting Team. I recently returned from an incredible 5-day hunting adventure in the Gredos mountains of Spain, organized by Top Spanish Hunting, a top-tier outfitter run by Alfonso, the owner and founder. From the moment I landed in Madrid after flying directly from Boston, Alfonso handled everything: airport pickup, accommodations, meals, and guided me personally throughout the entire experience until I was back at the airport.
The highlight of the trip was the Gredos Ibex hunt, where I had the chance to harvest a truly magnificent ibex in one of Spain’s most stunning hunting regions. The scenery was breathtaking, and the hunt was expertly organized, an experience I’ll never forget.
Outside of the hunt, the hospitality was outstanding. We ate and drank like kings, every meal was exceptional, with amazing local food and wine. The lodges and hotels we stayed in were first-class, combining comfort with authentic charm.
Since I had five days in Spain, we also took the opportunity to attend a bullfight at Las Ventas, Madrid’s iconic bullring, a unique cultural experience that added even more depth to the trip.

I have just returned from such an incredible trip with Top Spanish Hunting! Alfonso was such a professional, he has a huge depth for knowledge of the species in his stunning country.
I travelled to Spain to hunt in a Monteria, which Alfonso arranged. It blew all my expectations out the water! It was most definitely one of the most exciting hunts I’ve been on.
The day before the Monteria, Alfonso guided me in the Gredos mountains, where we photographed Gredos Ibex. I was totally stunning with the number of trophy animals we seen during our hike! It really was a true testament to the management and conservation that outfitters like Alfonso do.
I will most definitely be returning to hunt with Alfonso at Top Spanish Hunting!

Last January 27. 2024 I had the oportunity to hunt with Alfonso a Gredos Spanish female Ibex in order to population control.
I must say that everything with Alfonso is outstanding. He received me with his natural calm outstanding professionality and I was astonished because everything was under control. We had an incredible nice dinner in a really cozy guest house.
Next day we started early in the morning though we where in January the temperature was warmer than supposed.
Very soon we saw a group of Spanish Ibex where was the old female we wanted to hunt. Suddenly a Wolf appeared as a shadow and the group of Ibex started climbing up on to the highest rocks. We slowly started to gain their height turning around. It was not tough I must agree, but we had to do things correctly to avoid any mistake. Finally the female was in an afordable distance to shoot. There was a nice rock where to place myself and my rifle firmly to shoot properly. Alfonso helped me to find the correct position. I normally use the 6 times magnifying but I had to fix it in 8x. I was more confident. Alfonso told me to shoot when I would be ready. I did it and we got the old Spanish female Ibex.
I have no words to describe Alfonso. He is really mature, though quite young and a strong and good worker. I first met him, 2 years ago.
I am 76 y.o. And I must say that Alfonso is Possibly the Best Outfitter I ever met all over Europe. He really loves his work, he takes care of every single detail to make your feel confortable and as if you were in your own house. Nothing escapes to his very calm control.. You start as a client and you finish as a friend.
I strongly recomend Alfonso if you wish to hunt in Spain. You will never be deceived by Alfonso and his newly fledged Outfitting company TOP SPANISH HUNTING.. Congratulations Alfonso and thanks for your outstanding way of hunting.. And as a human outstanding person.
