Love my scriber. I've tried a few different ways over the years but this is by far the easiest and fastest. No hunting for scraps of the right height, quick and intuitive adjustment, and color options make it easier to spot at a glance. I only really use it for coping legs but even just for that one task it's definitely worth the money. Strongly recommend.
I bought a Tooley Park FB Scriber online through their website and it is one of the most useful tools in my toolbox. I use it frequently for doing the marking necessary to level feel on chairs and stools. Much easier to use and than other "accu-scribes" I've tried in the past. Additionally, Philip reached out to me to update me on shipping before I even had a chance to wonder when my order would ship. Very well-made tool and well-priced. I figure I won't ever have to buy another scriber again!

I ordered the TPK Scriber - for pica pencil - it’s a wonderful tool and function just as it should. It’s extremely well built and I appreciate its mass - it feels god to hold and use. I have used other scribing tools with more articulation and it has always required a light touch and many failed lines but this tool is rock solid with its singular pivot. no wondering, just a nice scribe line. It holds the Pica really well and I’m glad I read up on it on the website ahead of time to know it should be a firm fit. But I’ll take the firm fit in exchange for spot on tolerances. The feel of the knobs is good, enough tooth in the knurl for grip but I’m exfoliating my finger tips with it. I took mine completely apart to get some measurements off it to be able to design and 3d print a spot for it in a tool box; in doing so you can see some tooling marks but to me that just adds to the love. Again, only noticeable if you take it to pieces. All the surfaces you see and imperative for the function are very high quality. Costs where it matters and saving where it matters less.
It shipped fast to the State and I hade no issues with it clearing customs.
All in all a fantastic and well thought out tool. Its size and simplicity make it worth it. It does what it is designed to do and is treat to use.

One of the best scribers I've ever used! I first purchased the SB scriber along with the profile attachments to scribe skirtings and other decorative mouldings. I've now just brought the FB too with marking wheel. I'm a fitter and use these every day, and I cannot fault them one bit. An extremely well built, quality tool that'll last a lifetime.
Tool Review: Tooley Park Scriber – and a Word About the Maker
Okay, I know the review is supposed to be about the tool (and it absolutely won’t disappoint — more on that in a second), but I want to take a brief detour.
My experience with Philip Sewell, the maker behind the Tooley Park Scriber, was remarkable. I emailed him — he emailed me back. I had more questions — he emailed me back again. In a world where even close friends sometimes won’t return a text, having a world-renowned craftsman take the time to personally correspond with a complete stranger… that’s something worth recognizing.
Yes, I love the tool. Yes, there are other solutions out there. But this one is elegant, precise, and made by a man who clearly cares. That matters to me.
So yes — I wholeheartedly recommend the Tooley Park Scriber. If you can, spend the money. You’ll get a tool that brings joy every time you use it — or even when you just glance at it from across your desk.
It’s that good. And Philip is that kind of maker.

I ordered the Fat Boy Scriber assist me accurately scribe table legs and chair legs for sawing. It has made the final leveling of these projects much easier, efficient, and consistent. The adjustment is easy to use and locks securely, the base is very stable, and I appreciate the ability to use different marking tools. Yes, you could probably make a variant of this type of tool in your shop, but I doubt it would be as fully featured or as consistently reliable as the Fat Boy Scriber. Spend your time on the woodworking, invest in quality tools when you need them, and support quality toolmakers. Easiest woodworking tool purchase I’ve made in a long time. Highly recommend if you're making things with legs.

The FB Scriber is a simple and well-made tool that does its job. A standard pencil fits neatly in the designated hole and the screw down holds it tightly. Knobs are nicely knurled and easy to grip. The base is machined cleanly and all corners are eased, so no sharp edges. Easy to set up, comfortable to hold, satisfying to use. Highly recommended.
