We had such a lovely stay at Tongue Cottage. Sarah and Pete were wonderful hosts, and Pete gave us plenty of great recommendations when we arrived. The cottage had everything we needed and was in a perfect location with lots of walks on the door step. We will definitely be back

Sarah and Pete's generosity as hosts is evident in all the small, thoughtful touches: Bramble products, big fluffy towels, underfloor heating, a proper coffee machine, and a welcome basket filled with essentials.
Surprisingly for an AirBnB, the kitchen is fully stocked with every utensil, baking tray, and pan you could possibly need—and trust me, you'll want to stay in and cook just to sit and enjoy the roaring fire.
This stay absolutely surpassed our expectations. We initially came for that incredible bath, but we'll return for that and every other wonderful thing about this cottage. It’s also perfectly located: an easy walk to Ullswater and several great pubs, plus the stunning, picturesque walk to Aira Force. Sarah and Pete have provided excellent local guidance, including printouts of their recommended walks.

We had the most incredible stay at Sarah and Pete's Tounge cottage. The huge bath and fire place were personal highlights. But the whole place was beautiful. And the view of the farm was lovely to wake up too.
We’ve spent the last 10 years regularly visiting the Lake District and stayed in many places over that time. Tongue Cottage beats anywhere we have ever stayed. The location is so peaceful and the beautiful decor makes the whole place feel incredibly special. Sarah and Pete are also wonderful hosts.

The setting is as beautiful and peaceful as it seems in the photos, and is just a short walk or drive to some really beautiful lakeside and hillside walks. The cottage itself was clean and modern and comfortable. Sarah and Pete were great hosts and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Highly recommend staying here!
The most perfect little cottage in a wonderful location - peaceful and right next to the beautiful Ullswater lake. The cottage itself was SO beautifully designed, very comfortable and has everything you need (including the incredible copper bath tub and wood burner). Sarah and Pete were great hosts, super friendly and made every effort to make our stay special. We definitely recommend, and we will be returning in the future!

We had a wonderful week at Tongue Cottage. Absolutely idyllic. Sarah and Pete left us a hamper with bread eggs and jam and there was prosecco and butter in the fridge. The cottage is beautiful, well decorated and furnished. Completely peaceful and a welcome escape from the rat race

We chose this cottage for our minimoon, to be secluded and relax in the countryside. It did the job perfectly. It feels like a cottage should, but is fitted with modern features so things just work. Wonderful place. There isn't a whole lot within walking distance but there's enough to enjoy, including the Brakenrigg Inn, Sheepdog Show and scenic walks. Pete and Sarah were lovely to chat to and gave us good recommendations on local walking routes and restaurants. The guest info binder was also full of lots of useful tips, making our stay even easier. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and much needed after a long drive! Ziggy was also on hand to give us a friendly welcome. Thank you both for a fantastic stay in a beautiful part of the Lakes.

Tongue Cottage is a beautiful retreat into the countryside. The cottage has all of the amenities needed for a relaxing few days in the Lake District. It is close enough to get to restaurants and activities on the lake quickly, but far enough away to feel completely secluded and private. The views from the cottage are also incredible. I highly recommend a stay at Tongue Cottage.

Tongue Cottage is fantastic. Needs six stars. Pete and Sarah were amazing hosts. The cottage is pure luxury. Extremely good quality decor and finish. Obviously the bathroom is a highlight but the whole place is fabulous. Location is so peaceful and private yet close to Ullswater and easy to travel to/from for days out. I’ve already recommend to friends and family. Just book it!

Sarah & Pete have been such friendly and gracious hosts with excellent attention to detail in this beautiful and picturesque cottage. Even better than the pictures and it has been kept in such immaculate condition. It's also modern in all the right places while maintaining the gorgeous cottage charm we were after.
