Absolutely worth the visit! What a great experience! So informative, interesting, and most of all so wonderful to meet these beautiful animals! We are from Canada and we only have tiny bats that are hard to see. It was a total pleasure to meet bats that are being rescued and healed in this special place! We have a whole new perspective on bats now and we hope you are around for a very long time to come :) Thank you!

Great experience for wildlife lovers An excellent experience for wildlife lovers, getting to see many different species of bats up close. Very educational and so important for people to recognise bats as an essential part of ecosystems. Vivvy was a great guide and you could tell how much she cares about the bats!

Come here - bats are so cute! Here you can learn a lot about bats - micro bats and macro bats including flying foxes. Nice premises to host baby bats, “teen” bats and adult bats. Good competent information. When you leave again you will be fallen in love to these cute creatures!

Very good the bats were pretty cute, unfortunately i haven’t turned into Batman as expected. Learned a lot about the bats and how they get injured and helped. The signs out the front was very clear to find the establishment. Very friendly and welcoming people and the building site is very nice. The bats looked cute and we got a good look at them from close up. Highly recommend

If you are staying in Atherton or visiting the Tableland I would throughly recommend a visit to the Bat Hospital. It’s 10-15 minutes drive out of Atherton in the direction of Herberton. It’s not something I’ve thought to do on previous trips to Atherton but did it this time and found it to be very interesting and informative. It’s especially all the more interesting when you hear the story of how they started the hospital and the volunteer efforts that go in to saving, rehabilitating and caring for the bats. Congrats to Jenny and the team on doing something unsung and really worthwhile.

Thank you Bat Hospital The tour was amazing and very detailed. Jenny and the volunteers are kind, professional, and they convey all their passion for bats. I really appreciate their job that it is important for the animals and the environment. It is important for everyone to support them and realize that bats are not dangerous, but they are crucial for the ecosystem.

Exceptional experience at the bat hospital! The caring staff changed my perception—bats are incredibly cute and adorable, not scary. Their vital work in rescuing this species is commendable. Highly recommend this place—it's a must-visit for anyone who wants to learn more about these creatures. Their work supports a noble cause. It’s very eye-opening and heartwarming.

This was a fantastic educational experience. We were visiting the area for birds and wildlife observation. Frequently the tourist hotspots are more like petting zoos (for instance the mareeba wallabies). However, this rescue center is not focused on vistor selfies or handling of the bats, instead they are attempting to provide outreach and education on what is causing serious problems for bat colonies and how to help. Really great mission and establishment.

Thanks Justin, yes we do this work whether there are visitors here of not. We're passionate about animal welfare for the bats and trying to save a species - the endangered spectacled flying fox.

Fantastic visit! Highly recommend a visit to the bat hospital! We learned so much about the bats and the problems their facing. Our guide Vivvy’s passion and love for the animals and the hospital made our tour a fantastic experience. To learn more about the shelters operation and see the bats so close up was great. We had the opportunity to visit the nursery and were able to see some of the bats getting fed. What the founder, volunteers and staff do in this hospital is amazing!
