The yakisugi (burnt Japanese) cladding on this building is absolutely exceptional, and that’s down to Neal’s skill and dedication. You can tell he put an incredible amount of thought and precision into every stage of the process. The finish is flawless, clearly the result of someone who has spent a lot of time researching and mastering the technique.
Neal didn’t rush a thing. His attention to detail shows not just in the individual boards, but in how perfectly everything lines up once installed. It’s rare to find someone who cares this much about getting a specialist finish right, and the results speak for themselves.
If you want to see yakisugi done properly, Neal’s work is a perfect example.
