We used Throne & Vine to provide us with travel suggestions for attending the bi-annual Krampus run in Castelrotto Italy in Dec 2025. There advice was spot on and very helpful. We would not have been able to create as successful an itinerary for this trip with out their help. If your headed to the Dolomites I highly recommend there service, worth every penny.

My friend and I scheduled a private wine tour with Throne & Vine. We had an amazing time with Franz! His expertise of the South Tyrol region, along with his warm friendliness and genuine passion for the region, elevated the entire tour. He was also flexible, adjusting the pace and stops to match exactly what we were hoping for. Our favorite stop was the small family owned vineyard. It was a very safe and enjoyable addition to our trip!

If I could give Throne & Vine 10 stars I would! Kate and Vin helped us plan a wonderful trip to the Dolomites and Merano, we just returned and I can't say enough about Throne & Vine. Not only does their website have an enormous amount of information and resources, including a planning guide, they also have a service where they will create a customized itinerary for your trip. For a reasonable fee Kate and Vin created this for us and it is completely amazing, worth every penny. We used it every day of our two week trip because it had hikes with directions and maps, restaurants with internet links, and activities such as e-bike riding. We had a beautiful, fun trip and created lots of fond memories with our friends using this itinerary. The Dolomites are a fabulous choice for a vacation and I highly recommend using Throne and Vine for your planning.

Fantastic cycling experience! The weather was questionable on the day of our tour, but we opted to go for it, since it was our last day in the area. We covered A LOT of ground and saw parts of the area we otherwise would not have experienced. Ivan grew up in the area, so he was very knowledgeable and shared history and interesting facts.

First, I would like to begin by saying South Tyrol is truly a magical place. I reached out to Kate & Vin not exactly sure what I wanted from this trip and I am so happy I did. Do not despair if you are not an avid hiker--they will plan a trip according to your abilities. The itinerary...it was great. The only issue was that our wine appointments did not line up, no fault of theirs--we had to accept these appointment times. So, there were a few things we did not get to do. All the more reason to visit South Tyrol again, sooner than later! I should add that after South Tyrol we went to Emilia-Romagna and the Ligurian coast. We enjoyed everything but South Tyrol will forever be in our hearts. It was so different than anything we have ever experienced--the beauty of the mountains, the charm of the people, and the simple ingredients to prepare the finest of foods and the most delicious wines! Thank you! So glad you helped with our best vacation yet! We highly recommend you!

Kate and Vin have clearly put an incredible amount of time into the guides they provide. There is so much USEFUL information in the products they put together--from driving tips, useful phrases, and off-the-beaten path gems you do NOT want to miss. Their customer service is excellent, as well--they responded directly to requests for more information within an hour of sending an email, and they are always looking for ways to improve their guides by updating it with new information that any of their traveling customers may provide. They will be my first stop the next time I plan international travel!

I am still amazed with the guided hike I took with Ivan Goller in the Lago di Carezza area in May. Not only an experienced hiker but Ivan was conversant on history, culture, geology, and my personal favorite photography. This was no canned spiel that he had - the sharing and conversation were organic in nature. Best hiking experience I have ever had!

Kate and Vin helped us with our recent ten day trip to the Dolomites. We hiked the Seceda, Adolph Munkel Trail and Val di Funes, Alpi di Suisi, Passo Piatto, Cinque Torri, Lago di Braies, Tre Cime di Lavorado, Cascata di Fanes and visited Passo Giau. Their suggestions and attention to detail, down to where to park, what lift to take and the cost, what trail numbers to take and rifugios to visit, along with suggestions for restaurants, hotels and other sites to see, made our trip virtually seamless! The Adler Spa and Resort in Ortisei was fabulous! I cannot recommend the services of Throne and Vine enough! Their ebook provided valuable info for getting us started on what we wanted to see and do while there. They were prompt with answering a few questions we had after their thorough review of our trip. I sent them the places I wanted to see , where I was staying and they put together a detailed, beautiful presentation that was easy to use. Their experience, expertise of the area, and ability to listen made our trip to the Dolomites unforgettable. We felt so fortunate to find Kate and Vin from Throne and Vine! We’ve traveled quite a lot in Europe, particularly Italy, but this was a new area for us and we were unfamiliar. There are so many options in this area in terms of air access, transportation, towns in which to make a home base, lodging, trails, and activities, lifts, restaurants and so on. Kate and Vin became our personal ‘local’ guides. Their knowledge of the area is incredible. Our initial meeting was easy to arrange, really informative and helped us gain early confidence that we were going to use our time wisely and our dollar efficiently. They also provided print resources and were available during the rest of our planning phase for a quick questions. It really gave me a big smile to send Kate and Vin a picture of the family enjoying the Dolomites because they’re responsible for making it such a wonderful trip. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Unforgettable Dolomites Fall Hiking Trip! I was absolutely thrilled with the service I received from Throne and Vine! I was planning a solo hiking trip to the Dolomites and feeling a bit overwhelmed and Kate and Vin took away all my frustrations! The itinerary they crafted was perfect - a great mix of challenging hikes and scenic rifugios along the way. The hikes were well planned with detailed descriptions, maps, and alternative suggestions. They included specific information on which gondola to take for each trail, saving me time and frustration! I also found their driving instructions incredibly helpful. The Hotel Adler-Spa Resort Dolomiti they suggested was fantastic. Beautiful view, stunning spa and perfect location. Overall my Dolomites trip was an unforgettable experience and I will absolutely work with Throne and Vine for future South Tyrol travel.

Throne and Vine provided the knowledge and insight about South Tyrol which made our trip in September of 2023 unforgettable. We loved the hotel they recommended in the small village of Lana, well as the trails through the forests, orchards and vineyards of the valley. I have never hiked to a castle before but we did that and enjoyed wonderful meals in incredibly scenic locations along the trail. When we went to the Dolomites their guidance with regard to trails, food and sightseeing was spot on. With Kate and Vin's help, we even attended a local event ( an almatreib ) where a small mountaintop town gathered with music and the best parade ever to bring their dairy cows down from the high alps. We had to be the only English speakers there but the people were nice and the event was incredible. This seems to be a hard area to find good English language guidance - but Throne and Vine gave us the advice and the confidence to journey to the area for 8 wonderful days. I would give them my highest possible recommendation. Carl Marshall
