Our front porch door and frame needed attention and we were recommended to use Theydon Windows and Doors. We were not disappointed! Within a few weeks the new installation was expertly fitted, together with a few other minor repairs and replacements, all done by polite and friendly professionals. We were introduced to Theydon windows through a family member’s recommendation, and it has been an excellent experience from start to finish.
Our project is a large one, involving 3 external doors, 2 sky lights, and 19 windows, completed in phases. From April 2025, they were extremely accommodating of our request to schedule different parts of the installation at different times. They handled this with great flexibility and professionalism.
Their pricing is very competitive, the workmanship is of a very high standard, and the team is honest, friendly, and easy to communicate with. They have consistently worked with us to ensure we get exactly what we want, no matter how challenging!

I have never left a negative review before, as I always try to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, my experience with Theydon left me no choice.
The company made an error with the window sizing and expected me to cover the cost of their mistake. When I raised this concern, I was called a liar, followed by further name-calling. The situation then escalated to threats that they would deglaze the windows in my property, and they arrived at my home with a hammer. I had to call the police. Ultimately, out of fear for my safety, I felt forced to pay them.
Separately, I reported that a door was not locking properly and the wood was showing signs of mould, providing video evidence to support my concerns. Rather than addressing the issue, they accused me of trying to reduce the bill.
I am appalled by the threats and abuse I experienced. Beyond this, the company took a considerable time to complete the work and still expected full payment despite outstanding items, dismissing my concerns as unfair for holding back payment over "a few screws." To add to this, they overcharged me on three separate occasions and refused to acknowledge it until I sent a lengthy email detailing exactly how I had been double-charged. Even then, they never apologised or admitted their mistake.
I also note that their other branch has very poor reviews, and it appears this new account may have been created to improve their ratings.
I am truly sorry it came to this, but I cannot recommend this company under any circumstances.

It is a real shame that things have become so public, especially when many of the points raised are, from our perspective, untrue.
We would like to clarify a few points regarding your project. Our involvement was primarily to facilitate the administration and invoicing for another joinery company, with whom you contracted directly for the timber windows. We acted in good faith to assist both parties and ensure smooth communication.
With regard to your concerns about the windows, we understand the joinery company attended your property with tools intended solely for the safe removal of the windows due to an outstanding invoice. There was no intention to cause damage, and as soon as the payment was made, the matter was resolved immediately. To our knowledge, the police were not called during this incident.
We also acknowledge your feedback about the door and communication, and we are reviewing our processes to ensure we address concerns as promptly and fairly as possible.
Regarding the branch location, we have a single business location. Any references to another branch relate only to our workshop facility in Abridge, which is not open to the public. We have taken steps to ensure our online information is clear to avoid confusion.
As a small, family-run company with nearly 30 years of experience, we are genuinely hurt by these accusations and the impact they may have on our reputation. We value every customer and always strive to act with honesty and professionalism.
