Just wanted to give a little feedback after staying with you for my birthday weekend (1/5/26-4/5/26).
Initial thoughts the room was lovely, however the sewage smell all weekend was a lot even with a bouquet of flowers in the room.
Food - unfortunately this was the let down of the stay. Having arrived on my birthday and looking at menu online was looking forward to a steak. Unfortunately this was not an option on night, we paid £24 for chicken thighs that were dry and did not come with carrots as advertised. I did not want to bring this up on the night as you seemed busy and did not want to put a downer on this. I have to say I was disappointed and did spoil my birthday a little.
Breakfast on Saturday was dreadful for us both, but again everyone seemed to be working hard and we wanted to make our own minds up as we have several friends in Milton.
On the whole we would say the setting is lovely, as are the rooms but the sewage smell made us not want to spend time there. Food also was a let down, especially as I had checked ahead for my birthday.
I hope that you do not take this feedback negatively as we spend a lot of time in the area and would hope to return. It was a shame a few things made my birthday weekend negative.
It would be great if you could have some reasonably priced bar snacks rather than what felt overpriced and substandard mains. Also a consistent breakfast as we struggled with overcooked and strange tasting sausage on day one.

☺ Staff very friendly and helpful. Evening meal very good. Location. Generally very clean. Dining rooms/bar have nice atmosphere.
☹ Small double room very small for 2 people, with very little space. Hairdryer but no mirror (?). Shower mat mouldy and needs to be thrown away or replaced.
Breakfast. Service was very slow. Food ok but limited choice. Cheap thin sliced bread for toast, expected better quality for price paid.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They let us put our food purchases in their fridge before we returned home.

A comfortable stay - we would visit again.
☺ Breakfast was good. (The limited choices suited us well.) Room was comfortable and bathroom spacious. Bar was a pleasant area with reasonably priced drinks and the inn overall seemed well maintained and tidy.
☹ Disappointed evening meal was not available. Only realised this after booking. Entrance to car park could have clearer signage.k

The bed was comfortable and the sheets crisp!
☹ It was a bit scruffy. The room lacked facilities. No toiletries in the bathroom, the floor in the bathroom was coming up and there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom

We were really impressed with the Wychwood Inn’s new menu. It offers an excellent line-up with plenty of choice, and everything we tried was absolutely superb.
Each dish beautifully presented, and full of flavour.
The service really stood out as well: friendly, relaxed, and good-humoured, while still being attentive and efficient. Food arrived promptly without us ever feeling rushed, which made for a very enjoyable and comfortable dining experience.
Overall, a fantastic visit, great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. We’ll definitely be returning.
