Having moved to London as an actor, I was quickly looking for a dialect coach and came across Shaun! And what a wonderful time I have working with him. Shaun takes me through all the complex layers of many different english accents, and correlates not only the physical placement of the voice, but also the social and historical relevance of it. I started classes with Shaun after the xth time of hearing ‘I love your accent, but…’ during acting work. We started off trying to master RP, but over the course of the classes, my priorities changed: I realised that everyone had their own way of speaking and my goal became not to have accent as my defining feature.
With my previous accent coach, we got to the point where everything was great in theory and yet, my friends pointed out that my accent had not changed at all. After a year, I felt defeated and it seemed like the most impossible thing in the world to be able to do RP on stage. Shaun is very honest and doesn’t let things slide, which made all the difference because I became aware of where the problems lie and where I need practice.
I’m now much more confident about my voice and I no longer shy away from auditions where native accents are required – I am also more aware of the sounds and rhythm that consitute a certain accent and I can listen to and understand other accents better as well.
If any of my friends were in need of accent classes, I’d definitely recommend Shaun – I’d tell them to clearly define their accent goals so that Shaun can personalise their class – and then just to be ready to work hard and get the results!
I had RP accent coaching with Shaun with the goal of softening my strong Greek accent and learning the subtle sounds, intonation, and flow of RP. Shaun is not only highly knowledgeable but also very methodical and strategic in his teaching. He provided tailored resources, exercises, and examples, and each session focused on the specific sounds I needed most. By the end of the course, I felt more confident communicating with native English speakers and could already hear real progress in my accent. My boss felt my accent needed to be more refined for my role as an on-air reporter. Shaun helped me soften my accent, but more importantly, he worked with me to improve my delivery, the flow of my spoken sentences, and how I use pauses and emphasis. I’m now much more aware of my voice and how I communicate, and my confidence has grown considerably since our sessions.

I have gone to Shaun any time I have needed help perfecting an accent. He has always made time for me and been incredibly helpful. Most recently I had a job that required an english accent - something I have always struggled with - and Shaun not only helped me polish the accent, but he helped me get comfortable enough with it that I was able to walk on set feeling confident that I could focus on the acting and not worry about the accent.
