"We visited the Thorn Tree Pub and Kitchen in Ossett yesterday and had a brilliant experience. We aren't actually local, but we picked this spot because my dad plays bingo nearby—it was well worth the 25-minute drive and we will definitely be back.
The food was 10/10 and served red hot, which we loved. The portion sizes were great and it's excellent value for money, especially with the flexibility to choose 2 or 3 courses with starters and desserts. It was also great that those in our party who didn't want a roast could order from the full menu.
The atmosphere was lovely, and the lady serving us was so attentive and friendly. A handy tip for others: the parking is located round the back, which was very convenient.

I've been here loads of times but I always forget to review. Friday night karaoke is well mad and great fun. Some good cask ales available, served by great staff. You won't find a better Friday atmosphere in Ossett.

Absolutely beautiful afternoon tea today, went out of their way to accomodate us when someone from another group accidently came to todays instead of tomorrow, they made up the extra for us without hesitation. They couldnt have done more. Staff there are brilliant. Thank you.

Afternoon tea....very disappointed with the savoury selection. Half of sausage roll and even less quiche. The sandwiches where very run of the mill, crisps and that was it. Didnt get cuppa until finished savoury and sweet selection and had to ask for it. Been in several times before and loved the hot food. Definitely need to do better with the afternoon tea

Im sorry you were disappointed, many rave about our afternoon teas at how there's usually so much, especially desserts. We will continue to do what we do as Im putting it down to preference.
At £15.95 with a hot drink is fantastic value, and I believe you all had a soft drink so we were not made aware by yourselves that you wished to have your hot drink before it was supplied.
Also you were all given large teapots as a gesture as we are waiting for our new coffee machine.
I do believe we accommodated an extra person with no notice, so I really do think we did our best
Also check backs were done and nothing said then or when payment was made, in fact lovely comments were made at the time.

First visit today, will definitely be going back, what a lovely place, from stepping through the door to a lovely welcome, good menu choice for vegetarians, we both are, lovely staff, told me and my husband what specials were on, checked our order and then checked if my husband wanted the vegetarian gravy, which he did. Decent wait for home cooked, fresh food so no issue there, hot, tasty, fresh and well cooked food, he had the pie of the day which was cheese and onion, I had a ciabatta, roast veg and halloumi. Could not fault either dish. husband finished with bread and butter pudding, looked lovely no chance of a taster he would not share. Clean table and surroundings, lovely clean toilets, will make this our local even though it is a 30 minute drive, food is great, service attentive and a great atmosphere 5 star everything. Also really good value, we also had tea for 2 and all under £35.00. We also booked online which was easy to do.

Met with friends for a meal and all enjoyed burger night 2 for £16 and food great. Enjoyed the beef, cheese, pulled pork, barbeque sauce burger with chips and salad. Great value and very tasty. Stayed for the quiz night and lots of fun all round. Staff friendly, attentive and lovely. Definitely visit again.

I have been here twice in a couple of days while visiting nearby and on both occasions i thoroughly enjoyed the food : steak on the first occasion and Sunday roast on the second - excellently cooked and very well presented ~ the service was great on both occasions too - lovely, cosy and welcoming inside - highly recommend a visit :)
Another visit for a Sunday (dinner) after flying over from Spain - big plate of roast beef & gammon with mash and roasted potatoes and a mix of broccoli, carrots and red cabbage, plenty of gravy, lovely big Yorkshire pud and all nice and hot - staff super friendly - great prices - highly recommended - lovely atmosphere - a definite go to for me - next time I’ll take photos - i keep forgetting - I just want to tuck in :D
