Odd experience which didn’t seem to match the 4.7 star review 🤷‍♀️ We went for breakfast. There was only a couple of people in. We ordered a pot of tea and when she brought the cups out they were visibly dirty.. a she saw it too and didn’t even bother to take it back to clean it. She also has her finger inside the cup when bringing it over. She also said how she didn’t want to be there.. lovely first impressions. Our food came out before our drinks too.. the food was very very mediocre. I can make better at home. My muffin was dry as a bone and my knife couldn’t even cut through it. Bacon was ehh.. Poached egg was ok though.. 😂 wouldn’t recommend..

Was looking forward to it but very disappointing. Food was cold. Hair in food which had to be sent back, butter dripping off sandwiches. The tomatoes had a taste of meat which is no good for a vegetarian. The smashed avocado seemed shop bought instead of homemade. Staff friendly. Coffees nice

Great find very dog friendly and welcoming staff, had full Swamp breakfast which was served with quality produce and cooked to perfection, and my wife had smashed Avocado on toast with Poached eggs with was also well presented and cooked. I rate myself as a bit of a coffee snob and must add the black Americano coffee was excellent. Will use this cafe on our next visit to Whitby and would highly recommend to anyone visiting.

Popped in here for lunch while visiting Whitby and think we've discovered a little gem. Dog friendly, food was great (kedgeree and mexican eggs were amazing), and excellent value to boot. Will be back!

Three of us (one vegan, two meat eaters) stayed in whitby over the busy goth weekend and are here twice for breakfast. Great selection for vegans and meat eaters alike. The food was lovely, however service was a little slow and tables not fully cleaned. Would definitely recommend a visit.

First visit to this cafe. Friendly enough staff but we ordered tuna, red onion and cheese toasted sandwiches and were underwhelmed by the portion sizes and poor value for money. Sorry, but we won’t be returning.

Called in after seeing the reviews for this place. It wasn’t overly busy and we got a table straight away. We were unsure if it was table service or not so I went to the counter only to be told it’s table service, which was fine but it took another 10 minutes to come over even though most people had been served. We ordered a pesto bagel and a cream cheese bagel and it was very standard food. When the food finally arrived after 35 minutes the bagel was soggy and the food was bland. Another thing we noticed was that a dog was on a chair with its head on the table and also licking food from the chair and table and when they left the staff never cleaned and wiped the table which horrified me. We won’t be back and will try somewhere else next time

One of our party has a gluten, soya and milk allergy, Cranberry Swamp was able to cater for all of those. All the food was very good quality and tasty. The cafe was closing as we went past on another occasion but they were kind enough to stop and check ingredients in a couple of desserts for the person with allergies as we had not been able to find any throughout the day, and were able to buy a couple. Thank you so much for your patience and kindness, the desserts were delicious I'm told

We visit here every year with the kids on are holiday as we all love it, but sadly we wont be returning anymore. Im not sure if it has changed owners but we saw a massive difference in food quality. I ordered the kedgeree and it was in edible. We mentioned it to the girls and just got a shrug. The food has gone from fresh and tasty to bland and terrible value for money. Food was missed from orders and our coffe order was also wrong. Sad times!
