Took my mum for her cataract operation at this eye hospital. Great service and a great team.

Absolutely shocking experience, took my eldery mum for a cataract surgery in April 2021, all staff members were extremely rude including the surgeon who came to see us to explain the procedure, mum doesn't speak English so I was there to support her and translate everything, the surgeon made a nasty comment why mum didn't learn how to speak english and was very ignorant with her throughout the whole time ,not supportive at all ! mum was very stressed out before they took her in for the procedure , I waited for her in a waiting area hoping and praying for a smooth surgery as I trusted the doctor and the whole process , when I saw my mum after I almost collapsed, her blood pressure was over 200 she was in so much pain telling me she could feel Absolutely everything during the cataract removal, she said it was the worst experience ever and mum is very very brave and she silently waited for the surgeon to just finish the job but how could she feel it all?? Now mum needs another cataract removal on the same eye and I will make sure she is treated properly in the Hospital not this place , the trauma she was left with just broke my heart and the entire experience was just terrible and terrifying I will never forget how we were treated and how they made my mum feel. ZERO customer service ZERO empathy and ZERO understanding. Mum is a resident in this country for over 16 years and she was paying her taxes all her life here why she doesn't speak English is none of this place business she was there for you to look after her properly we have chosen you upon your good reviews and I am utterly dissapointed and will avoid your place at all costs.

It’s been nearly 4 years since I had my eyes done at The Stoneygate Eye Hospital and I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. I had such bad eyesight and the surgeon said it probably wouldn’t turn out as good a result as I would hope for however it did and better as I hardly need glasses now. It’s great! The whole process was so simple and the hospital were great throughout the whole surgery on both eyes. I honestly cannot recommend them enough. The surgeon himself was amazing 😊 Thsnk you all so much for my new eyes 😊

I had a fluid filled cyst removed from my lower eyelid by Antonella who was superb. Everything was explained thoroughly, her team were so kind, caring and theatre staff very supportive. Really put me at ease. The hospital is spotless. All the staff from reception to nursing were exceptional! Thank you

I am so grateful to all the staff at Stoneygate. The consultants were so professional and caring. I've used them a few times both privately and through the NHS. Cataract surgery (Mr Sampath), YAG on both eyes (Mrs Berry- Brincat), also a procedure to reduce scarring after a BCC removal close to my right eye. The reception staff are great and the technicians too. I highly recommend.

I've had LASEK surgery with the hospital. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and supportive especially during the procedure. The surgeon, Mr Savant went the extra mile to ensure that the procedure was as comfortable as it could be. It goes without saying that my vision is significantly better if not perfect! I would highly recommend Stoneygate if you are considering Laser eye surgery

I had lenses put in both my eyes at this hospital, Dr Savant was brilliant, Also the staff are so helpful and kind and cannot do enough for you. The hospital is spotless. I can now see brilliantly and will never need to wear glasses again. After care was great. Would highly recommend. Mrs Powell.

I visited this Eye Hospital after being referred to a corneal specialist by several ophthalmologists in my home country. I got in contact with Mr. Nick Frith, who scheduled my appointment with Dr. Savant and answered all my questions as it related to the cost of the visit and whether the specialist could treat my condition. I received treatment from the team at Stoneygate Eye Hospital with Dr. Vijay Savant being my main specialist. This was by far the most professional service I have ever received in my lifetime. I got all my eye scans and tests done in one location, and the fee was already included in the cost of the visit. Dr. Savant was very professional and knowledgeable of my condition and assisted me greatly. He also explained every process he was undertaking and every medication prescribed to me. He was very helpful and answered all the questions I had regarding my condition, which doctors in my country could never answer. I am very satisfied with the level of service and the treatment I received from Stoneygate Eye Hospital and will be visiting again in the future if the need arises. UPDATE It's been 3 years since visiting Dr. Savant and his diagnosis of my eye condition was 100% correct. All the medication that was prescribed by him helped me a great deal without causing any terrible side effects (unlike the medication that was prescribed by the eye specialists in my home country). I took his advice on how to treat my eye condition long term, and my eyes are now healed. Thank you, Stoneygate Eye Hospital and the entire team!

All the staff at Stoneygate are fantastic. I have been receiving aftercare for a while now after having a cornea transplant and a cataract procedure, which was a great success. I recently had my eyes tested and the optician praised the eye surgeon who did the procedure and it was the best she had ever seen. So special praise goes to Mr Savant who did the procedure and all of his staff.

I am delighted with the outcome of my cataract operation performed by Mr Vijay Savant. The whole experience from start to final sign off was excellent. I felt reassured and would happily have my second eye done by Mr Savant at Stoneygate Eye Hospital. Bless him.

I had my cataract surgery in may 2024 and I am over the moon with the result I'm hoping to get my other eye do in the new year G Tighe.

I have only given one star as the treatment pre and post my bilateral endothelial transplant (DEMK) in my left eye left a lot to be questioned. I had one operation and then to have an another due to transplant rejection. Even though I had asked for anaesthetic consultant one was not provided. The second time there was an error in my transplant that I found out after I had obtained a second opinion, I was just being asked attend on a fortnightly basis and the contact lense was only removed after I had a second opinion and asked for it to be removed . Please avoid this practice as they are just after your money. There was no duty of care and being honest in my care and diagnosis. The consultant that I had my procedure was with Mr V Savant.

I had cataract surgery at this clinic on Wednesday. Initially unsure of what to expect and whether a specific type of lens would be necessary, I was offered a complimentary consultation with Mr. Vijay Savant. He addressed all my concerns and recommended the best option, whether through the NHS or private surgery. From the moment I entered the clinic to my discharge, I was consistently made to feel comfortable and at ease. The entire staff was exceptional and incredibly friendly. My consultant and surgeon on the day, Mr. Periyasamy Kumar, was exceptional. He noticed my nervousness and spoke to me throughout the surgery, providing much-needed reassurance. Following the surgery, I received a follow-up call from Kate, who addressed my concerns by promptly arranging an appointment with Mr. Kumar to ensure there were no complications. Mr. Kumar took the time to thoroughly examine me and confirm that my recovery within the first 24 hours was remarkably good. I am sincerely grateful to everyone involved and would highly recommend this clinic. I eagerly anticipate my second surgery, should I be eligible for NHS coverage. Having had cataract surgery and treatment for wet macular degeneration I would thoroughly recommend the Stoneygate Hospital. From arrival at reception to treatment by Mr Kumar and his team everyone i came into contact with was very professional and friendly.We are lucky to have this facility in Leicester.
