My husband and I traveled to Asheville for our honeymoon. We decided to go with booking the Reynolds Mansion because of the 4 course breakfast. Needless to say…we loved every minute of our stay! Paul was very attentive and knowledgeable about the area and gave great suggestions about places to visit and eat. Even though we were the only guests in the house, he was just as attentive and served a delicious breakfast every morning! The room we stayed in was very clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed talking to Paul everyday, and when we visit Asheville again, we will definitely come back to the Reynolds Mansion.

My wife and I had an outstanding visit to the Reynolds mansion a few weeks ago. The owner Paul treated us like his family giving us tips to where to eat and go in Asheville, and offered a discount to the Biltmore. We were served four course gourmet breakfasts that were delicious and memorable. The history of the home is intriguing with its connection with the Hope diamond. Very romantic setting with very nice gas fireplaces!

Excellent place to stay, I would go back to Asheville just to stay here! Paul was a very gracious host with such attention to every detail. The four course breakfast every morning was wonderful, as were the conversations with Paul. My husband and I were there four nights of an eight night vacation, and stayed in the Carriage House Blue Hydrangea room. It was comfortable, quiet and we loved having a working fireplace in our room as well as a sofa. Paul was such a help with local restaurant and sight seeing recommendations, as well as directions and tips. This was our first trip to Asheville and the beautiful Reynolds Mansion exceeded our expectations!

This BnB is worth every penny. It is run by Paul and Mirlin. Paul is a trained chef and has years of managing Food and Beverage in a couple of major businesses. The 4 course breakfast served every day is truly the work of a master, namely chef Paul. The rooms in this mansion completed in 1847 are spacious and well appointed. Our room had a tub surrounded by certain is not an ideal arrangement. The facility was sold out on one of the weekend days during our 3 night stay. Pl check on minimum stay requirements, pet policy. Also is you have children pl consult with the owners. I would stay there once again if in the area.
If I could give 1000/5 stars, I would. There are many factors that make The Reynolds Mansion a special place: the history, the beautiful building and grounds, proximity to downtown, mountain sunset views, the thought and care in every detail of the service and the house, and the spectacular breakfasts. But what truly makes The Reynolds Mansion exceptional and worth the visit are the owners, Paul and Mirlin, who embody the meaning of hospitality.
Our stay overlapped with Hurricane Helene and its immediate aftermath. Under the most challenging and stressful of circumstances, Paul and Mirlin took amazing care of us, and were the loveliest company imaginable when our stay lasted longer than anticipated due to the storm and its effects. Their thoughtfulness and generosity has ensured I will be a lifelong customer of The Reynolds Mansion when in Asheville.
If you look up the term "Hospitality" in the dictionary, you will find a picture of The Reynolds Mansion, with Paul and Mirlin right next to it. We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our birthdays, 70th and 71st - memories were made, and Paul and Mirlin were instrumental in helping us make those memories.
Just right, like Baby Bear's Bed & Breakfast.
Another wonderful visit to The Reynolds Mansion. We had been there with the previous owners and were praying it was still an awesome place to stay. Paul and Mirlin have created an even more wonderful experience for their guests.
The mansion is still perfectly maintained. Each room is spotless and decorated with period furniture that is comfortable. They have period music playing in the background. The wide porches are so comfortable for relaxing with other guests. The grounds create an inviting environment to sit and enjoy the afternoon breezes. The Blue Ridge Mountains are your view from the wide upper front porch. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Asheville, so it is very peaceful. But you are less than 20 minutes away from the great restaurants, breweries, and shopping.
Paul's breakfasts are the most interesting we have had at any B&B worldwide. Each morning we had 4 courses that were expertly prepared. They were visual masterpieces. The flavors were perfectly blended and HEALTHY.
I only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often.
Paul the owner was an amazing host! He is welcoming, provides excellent service to the point of greeting you before you even enter with a glass of cold water and helping to carry your suitcase into your room. Paul is an amazing chef and his creative breakfasts are a four course made for royalty and are both delicious, nutritious, and beautiful to look at!
Paul takes the time with his guests to make them feel comfortable and you feel welcomed by him, his lovely wife, and the other guests who feel easy to talk to almost like close friends.
The room was comfortable, sound proof, and you feel like you somehow traveled back in time a couple hundred years as you are a guest inside one of the kings private rooms.
We stumbled upon the Reynolds Mansion late at night on our way through the mountains in the rain. We were utterly exhausted from traveling for our wedding just the day before and were so relieved to reserve a room so late at night when other hotels in the area had no flexibility or availability. We had no time to research the property in advance and could only hope for the best. Little did we know that the absolute best is exactly what we had found here at the Reynolds Mansion.
The stay began with finding the property tucked away on an almost hidden drive in the dark. When we made the reservation, we were asked to call ahead when we were close to arriving. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the property owners, Paul, directing us in the dark with his flashlight and greeting us with a silver tray of glasses of water with slices of lemon. After a long drive, it was so thoughtful and refreshing.
He gave us details on parking and helped us with our bags. Upon entering the house, we were blown away as Paul proceeded to provide details on coffee service and breakfast in the morning, the layout of the house (the common areas, library, and dining room), our room upstairs (the Katie room), and the grounds while we took in the general splendor. No detail has been spared on preserving this stunning property.
After discovering that we were newlyweds, Paul presented us with two toasting glasses and a silver tray and silver ice bucket filled with ice and champagne. We were so surprised! Once we finally settled in for the evening, we were immediately impressed with our beautiful room. The Katie room is incredibly romantic, with a claw-foot bathtub and antique furniture. The antique bedframe reminds me of one my grandfather built by hand, and it felt like home away from home.
We had such a comfortable night's stay drifting to sleep while listening to classic 1940s music playing downstairs. The next morning, we enjoyed cups of cinnamon coffee in the library before breakfast—and breakfast is an entire experience on its own. Paul is a classically trained chef, and breakfast is four courses. Each course is better than the last, consisting of a smoothie (best smoothie we've ever had!), a cold fruit and yogurt plate, a hot breakfast sandwich plate, and a baked biscuit to finish.
Paul's wife, Mirlin, anticipated our every need at breakfast, and Paul visited with us after breakfast to make sure everything met our expectations. Time stands still when you're having a good conversation, and we ended up talking with Paul for hours that felt like minutes. We could have easily spent hours more lost in conversation. In sum, our stay at the Reynolds Mansion was magical and we so appreciate our gracious hosts and their top-notch hospitality. Thank you both again for everything. We are already telling everyone we know about this gorgeous gem and our equally gorgeous stay!

The Reynolds Mansion Bed & Breakfast is far superior to any typical B & B. Paul, Mirlin and Team provide more than an outstanding facility located on beautiful grounds, they deliver an immersive experience designed to make you feel welcomed and relaxed. They make every effort to greet you personally upon arrival, sharing the history of the mansion and illuminating you with everything you need to know to enjoy your stay. Attention to detail is of paramount importance; from impeccable standards for appearance, ambiance and cleanliness, to assistance with making fine dining reservations and providing information to help you plan your day. The four course breakfast served each morning is a culinary delight, which helps set the context for the rest of your day. We highly recommend The Reynolds Mansion to anyone visiting Asheville.
We stayed at The Reynolds Mansion over a long weekend on the recommendation of some friends. They had raved about their experience in general, but especially about the breakfast. They did not exaggerate.
The property itself is beautiful! The rooms are very comfortable and, considering the age of the home, surprisingly quiet.
Breakfast exceeds even our very high expectations! Each one of the four courses we ate over our three mornings was exquisite.
However, the true highlight was getting to talk to Paul and Mirlin. They're both wonderfully friendly, obviously passionate about the property, and full of well-informed recommendations for food and drink.
We cannot say enough good things about our experience and definitely plan to return!
This is my second time at The Reynolds Mansion and I LOVED it both times. The house is beautiful and the rooms are so comfortable and cozy. The towels are big and fluffy. And Paul was absolutely lovely! I love his very British accent! He was very informative with helpful information, directions and suggestions. He also has lots of funny stories! I think I have a new friend. OK I have to mention the breakfasts. Every course (and there were 4 of them) was a work of art. Most of us were afraid to put our knife and fork to each dish as that would mess up the beautiful presentation. But we did, and the cuisine was not only a feast for the eyes - it was a feast for the palate and plentiful! We will definitely be back. Great accommodations, fantastic host and the food simply could not be better! I would give this place 6 stars if I could. Thank you Paul from Suzanne and new man : - ) We had a great time!
I was lucky to find the Reynolds Mansion for a recent trip to Asheville to see family. This is not just your "find a hotel" type of place, as the owners have obvious intentions of preserving historic relevance, providing a unique culinary experience, and catering to your specific needs with service at top of mind. Upon arrival I was pleasantly greeted, and immediately the experience began. My wife and I will be back to spend time here, as the peacefulness and atmosphere lend you to feel you are slowed down in time and meant to enjoy yourself.
