The Old Hall was the venue for our daughters wedding reception yesterday. We had the most fantastic experience. The team at The Old Hall are wonderful, they couldn't do enough for us. We had a truly wonderful day. Our guests were in awe of the magnificent building, the gorgeous bedrooms and the exquisite room that held the wedding reception. The breakfast this morning was delicious. Saying goodbye was enormously difficult, we loved it!

Stunning place and very carefully thought out to create a cosy, stylish and calming escape. The staff are particularly impressive, attentive and professional in a very relaxed way. Really impressive stuff, definitely a benchmark for how to get it spot on.

The Old Hall is Christmas 🎄 with coal fires and real trees throughout. The grounds are magnificent and spotless with attention to detail every where you go From the minute you arrive you’ll be welcomed by lovely people not to mention enjoying the signature carrot cake and cup of tea Nothing is too much trouble , this is our second visit we’ve been lucky to experience The Steward and The Cromwell Suite exceptional rooms Fantastic breakfast with local produce and suppliers , cheese board was delicious too We were able to check in early which was the icing on the cake don’t hesitate to book

Exceptional ☺ Staff are incredibly accommodating. I book for my partner when he works away, the staff always ensure he has one of the rooms he likes - with outdoor access. Super comfy beds, immaculate rooms and great customer service all round.

We stayed at The Old Hall for two nights to celebrate my partner's birthday. The Old Hall is a welcome oasis of calm. The building and grounds are stunning and the staff are attentive yet discreet. The perfect combination. The room we stayed in was away from the main house and was beautifully decorated and well appointed with a very comfortable bed and an eclectic mix of new and old furniture. The bathroom boasted a roll-top bath and amazing rainfall shower. We only ate breakfast at The Old Hall. There was a nicely presented buffet of cereal, yoghurt and pastries etc. The hot food options were all cooked to order and included an amazing vegan English breakfast which was very tasty. The waitress on the first day remembered us from a previous stay over 15 months previous. We are both looking forward to staying at The Old Hall again in the near future (just need to find an excuse for a celebratory break away) if our dog sitters can cover for us.

Cosy couple of nights overlooking magnificent Fens. Another lovely stay at Old Hall Ely. Amazing building. Stayed in a different room to previous stays. Couple of maintenance issues, cld be easily rectified. Slight disappointment, no toiletries to take away, can understand environment issues but at this price range wld be nice to have some perks 😉 Beautiful bedding. Very comfortable couple nights. Superb cooked breakfast. No restaurant option on both our evenings. Tried the charcuterie boards one evening, was more than adequate. Sitting by the beautiful log fires throughout the hall. A car a must as need to go out and about, unless working or happy to sit and read all day. Took the opportunity to Christmas shop in nearby Cambridge and Bury st Edmund’s. Staff really friendly.

Out of this World Got taken here for the first time for my birthday treat. The experience was beyond expectations! The venue is beautiful and we were looked after, superbly, by our Hostess ( Charlie) nothing was too much trouble and she combined discreet service with attentiveness perfectly. Our food was sublime, there is obviously a very talented Chef in residence! I can’t believe we have such a special place in our small City, I will definitely be bringing friends here.

A pleasant stay Beautiful building set in wonderful grounds. We went for a family wedding. It is a wedding machine. It really does feel like ‘one in, one out’. Breakfast finishes at 9.00am. Continental is poor. Issues with maintenance. Broken taps, leaking taps, sink plug hole stuck. Broken blinds, etc. Very dated decor, it felt more like a retirement home. Main rooms in the house are stunning. So a bit of a mixed bag. Better maintenance and a makeover of some of the guest rooms would be beneficial. On the whole the staff were very friendly and professional.
