I had an excellent experience with Paul at Hearing Space, and his warmth and kindness genuinely made a very difficult situation much easier.
On Friday morning, just before starting at a new hospital the following week, I realised that I had misplaced my Roger On microphone, without which I would have struggled to make phone calls at work. With the weekend approaching, I urgently needed a replacement, but none of the suppliers I contacted had stock available at such short notice.
I contacted Paul, whom I had never met before, intending to buy a replacement from him. He had a trial Roger On available and was looking into arranging a new one for me. While I was with him, however, I found an alternative option for purchasing my replacement, so he knew I would ultimately be buying it elsewhere.
Despite this, Paul very kindly offered to let me use his trial Roger On for a few days until mine arrived. I offered to pay a deposit and a service fee, but he refused and simply trusted me to return it.
What made this particularly remarkable was that he barely knew who I was. As I was leaving, I showed him my driving licence and asked whether he wanted to photograph it, given that he was handing an expensive piece of equipment to someone he had only just met. His response was essentially that, after talking to me for an hour, if I failed to return it, that would reflect on his judgement of character.
That really stayed with me. In a time when this level of trust and generosity can feel increasingly rare, Paul went out of his way to help someone he had never met, despite having nothing financially to gain from it.
I am extremely grateful for his help and do not think I will forget his kindness. I would have no hesitation recommending Hearing Space to anyone looking for an independent audiologist who genuinely cares about the people he helps.

I didn’t know I couldn’t hear until I could!
Professional service, not in the least bit embarrassing; made a huge difference to my life. The difference before and after was a huge surprise; even my own voice sounded clearer and sharp, I was taken aback. I wish I’d done it much much sooner; I will go for regular check ups from now on, and will be taking my kids to be checked too. So grateful.

My visit to the Hearing Space was very helpful.
Paul found both ears to be clear of wax and so provided a full hearing test for me.
He spent time talking to me about hearing loss as people age, not only did he explain the results of the test but he sent me a copy of his report and the graph showing the results.
I was very happy with the outcome and as advised, I will take time to consider further action.
I felt I was given time to discuss any issues and did not feel under any pressure to make a decision there and then.

First time at this service. Paul is a nice guy and makes you feel comfortable. He explains clearly what he is doing and efficiently carries out treatment in my case wax clearance. I went to Soecsavers last time and they failed to clear the wax in one session. I will return to and definitely recommend the Hearing Spsce ..

I had the pleasure of working with Paul at the University of Leeds for a number of years, where he was an audiology lecturer, so I already knew the level of expertise and care he brings to his work.
When I experienced an ear issue, my GP advised me to go to A&E. However, I immediately thought of Paul, at The Hearing Space, as someone I could trust. He kindly saw me the same day, carried out a thorough examination, and quickly reassured me that there was no obstruction.
Paul is professional, friendly and calm in his approach. I was also pleased to receive a hearing test while I was there, as I had been concerned about some hearing loss in that ear.

Blocked ears resolved professionally and easily - I was able to book online and choose a convenient time to have my ears cleared of wax. Paul was professional and diligent in examining my ears and explaining treatments options. I felt happier going to The Hearing Space than going to a high street Chemist.
