My husband Mark and I have had a most outstanding day with Limbert - our guide. He is such an easy going, but at the same time incredibly knowledgeable guy. We did a private tour with Maya Custom Tour as a family of 5 with our three kids, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our trip. Yes, it’s not cheap, but for us it was completely worth it—the whole day felt easy, relaxed, and very well taken care of. Riaz, our guide, was exceptional. You can really feel he has years of experience, and the way he explains things makes everything come alive. He turned Chichen Itza into something truly fascinating, and gave us a whole new perspective. On New Year's Day we had an incredible experience on our custom private tour departing from Playa del Carmen. From start to finish, everything was well organized and thoughtfully planned.
Our driver, Benjamin, was professional, friendly, and made the drive very comfortable. Our guide, Limbert, was truly outstanding. At the Mayan ruins of Cobá, we explored the site by bicycle, which made the experience both fun and immersive. Limbert brought the ruins to life with his deep knowledge of Mayan history. He explained the construction of the structures, how the Mayan people lived and governed, their language, customs, religion, and traditional foods. He also shared insights into the modern history of the people of the Yucatán region, which added meaningful context to everything we saw.
After Cobá, we visited a beautiful cenote, where we were able to swim and enjoy the experience almost entirely to ourselves. There were very few other tourists, which made it peaceful and unforgettable.
I highly recommend these private tours to anyone visiting the area, and I especially recommend Limbert as a tour guide. His knowledge, passion, and storytelling made this one of the best tours we’ve ever taken.
Everything went excellently. There were 3 families of us, a total of 14 people, including 4 children and one 3-month-old baby.

If you’re on the fence about the early pickup, do it. Mariana picked us up at 6:30 AM, and it was the best decision we made. We were among the very first visitors at the Coba temple, allowing us to experience the site in peace before the crowds and the midday heat arrived.
The entire day was perfectly planned. A massive highlight was the Cenote visit; Mariana timed it so well that our family had about 20 minutes of completely private time swimming in the water. It felt like our own hidden paradise!
A huge shout-out to our guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much history with us, but she’s also a fantastic driver. We felt totally safe and comfortable on the road the entire time.

Family tour to Ek Balam, Selva Maya and Valladolid with Kat and Benjamin. Everything was fine until the way home when the driver Ben started to drive dangerously. Tailgating 20 feet (3.5 meters) at 50 mph (80 kph) on a wet road is a recipe for disaster.
